    DCS900 Careful, man! There’s a beverage here!

Due to a managerial testicular elevation, I found myself with an empty schedule this afternoon. Not one to sit at home and mope, I grabbed the opportunity to get the bike out for a quick roam… I decided to try and get some nice autumnal photos around Coniston for you lovely lot!
The weather is a mixed bag, hard showers, light showers, bright sun and blue sky… so tooled up in the textiles, I head north.
The roads are a patchwork of dry and damp, but below the trees, the surface has a more slick covering of slimy mould, especially between the car wheeltracks… making line choice important.
I ride up the west side of Coniston water, and capture Coniston Old Man in moody repose…

Coniston village is a bit uninspiring, so I whip through and head up Tilberthwaite; a beautiful little valley where my mates grandma used to live… that’s the White House with the exterior spinning gallery.

Tilberthwaite is a cul de sac valley. So turning around, going past the sheep pen with the slate sculptures, I turn left under Holme Fell as it enjoys a sunbathing session…

Carrying on north, I pop over Oxen Fell and drive down the “dangerous road”. Putting my life in danger :joy: for a few photos of the lovely Little Langdale…

And I was rewarded with a half rainbow.

I was running short on time now, so I turned around and retraced my steps. At the South end of Coniston water, I cross over the river Crake, hoping to glimpse a kingfisher.. if you look really closely, above the beautiful water, you’ll see I’ve managed to capture the trees, perfectly devoid of the blue bird! :grinning:
I carried on down the Crake valley until I got to Spark Bridge… and a place often just ridden through, but again… the observant will notice a hidden gem. This garden houses an English Electric Lightning… one of the U.K.s great historical airplanes! It’s there under the green tarpaulins… so I’ll post a link about that very plane at the bottom of the page!
And then home I go… as I’m pushed for time, but the yellow peril is filthy, I stop to power wash it off… standing there in the hardest shower yet, hosing my bike down! :joy::joy::joy:

Brilliant photos, @DCS900, and I truly enjoy your writing and descriptions. :) I did laugh at the road sign. I've never seen one that said to "Go dead slow".:joy:

I think it’s because you go through Elon Musk’s secret “Jurassic Park” and you’ll catch the attention of the T’rex (which is a sight hunter), and the R.O.U.S. might drag you into the fire swamp … or something… :D

I agree with @Dawsy . You live in a lovely area. I did a lot of fell walking there, loved it.

Funny you should mention that. I've been getting emails (3) from United Utilities urging me to save water, the last one was about a month ago. I expect to get no more.

I’m new to the forum and even newer to Triumph. That new in fact that I don’t have one yet (1st of March will remedy this) so I’m just reading the trips, tours etc.
We do ride similar areas as you as we live in Yorkshire. I just wish I had your eye for a picture.
Please keep these write ups of days out coming.
    Thanks Glenn.
