I was inspecting my air filter and notice it had a strong odor of fuel, is this normal? I have a 2014 triumph Bonneville T100. During downshifting I also notice I get a little bit of popping, can this be associated with this? inside the box it looks fairly dry but I did see a little bit of not sure where the oil or fuel. I've attached a picture of the air filter pain on the left side you can see a little bit of moisture.
Its normal for the filter to smell of fuel and also popping deceleration Clean out housing and refit parts.
Hi, I currently have a very similar problem. My Bonneville T100 year 2003 has been standing for almost two years - I will never let that happen again, but it had its reasons - unfortunately with fuel only and no additions to keep the fuel ok over time. When trying to start it, the fuel flooded all over. After cleaning the carbs for the brown muddy stinking roles of old fuel stopping the flow to the carbs, I later found out that I had both petrol and pieces of this sticky stuff also in the housing for the air filter and the filter was all wet with fuel. I cannot have the bike in my garage because of the heavy smell, as I am using this room also for other purposes. Any idea how to get rid of the smell, that seem to have stuck to the plastic housing?
