I'm new to this forum thing and don't know if I'm posting this in the right place. I want to know if anyone has had problems with to original grips being to thin. I ride a 2019 street twin. They tend to get tiresome after a while of gripping them. Has anyone had this problem? What about changing the grips. Do they make fatter grips to put on my bike. Is it a hard process to change them?
Try grip puppies, about 15 quid on ebay, they roll over the standard grips and make them fatter. I have them on my bike and love them. If you have heated grips they still work but at reduced heat level.
I used these for my Street Cup. Very easy to fit and have stayed in place for over 3000 miles so far. Range of colours. Not sure if they have an outlet in the US, I ordered direct from India before the pandemic and was good delivery to the UK. Grips Wrap - Black - Trip Machine (tripmachinecompany.com)
I have a Street Twin. I found the vibrations through the bars was numbing my hands, so decided to switch grips. I went for barrel grips because I feel they fit my hands better and they lift my hands fractionally further away from the metal bars. I reckon they've cut vibration by at least 50%. I got the Triumph ones but there are others out there. I got my dealer to fit them because the bike was going in for a service anyway and they didn't charge me any extra. Changing grips is pretty straightforward but there are various methods, depending on whether you want to keep the old ones or not. If you don't want them then cut them off with a sharp knife. I suggest you check out a few Youtube vids, there are dozens showing how to get new ones on.
Thanks everyone for all the great info, exactly what I needed...now I'm to Google to research all the suggestions!
