I am in the fortunate position of having around £4500 to spend on a winter bike, I love my Speed twin and would like to keep it for the very short Summer! My current thinking is a 2015 CBR 650 F, obviously to use in the winter and with a little fettling maybe a track day bike in the summer? Looking for inspiration and or advise, suggestions hopefully all constructive! Many thanks for anyone’s input as I seem to be going around in circles! Of course anyone who has anything that that may think is suitable for sale and isn’t to far from Tonbridge in Kent I would be interested. Many thanks
They are on my radar, not a lot about for my budget though! Patience may be required, something I don’t have a lot of! Thanks for your input.
Am going to look at an FZ1 on Tuesday, it’s a 2009 with 23000 miles, two owners excellent condition, but for the same money a 2015 cbr 650f, what would you do? The FZ1 is at Fastlane motorcycles, the cbr at Ryder motorcycles.

Am really tempted by the FZ1 but 12 years old with 23000 miles kinda fries my brain for £4500, bikes are so expensive!
Am looking at 2016 striple and a z800 on Saturday, have owned a 2013 striple r before so am happy to consider, but if anyone has experience of the z800……. Ta
I agreed with Funelli about the look of the SV650 until you posted this picture. I can't remember seeing one with the full fairing. I really like it, especially in blue (but not the end can). Now you've got me wondering..
No-one has mentioned what I reckon is the most obvious bike to suit your needs, a Honda CBR600. There are dozens of them about, you won't need to spend anywhere near your £4500 budget and you won't have much trouble finding a good one because the Honda build quality is pretty good. You could even take it on the track, lots of people do. The main choice is steel frame & carbs (pre 2000) or aluminium frame & EFI (2001 - 2004 I think). I've had 2. Ok they get criticised for 'lacking character' (whatever that means) but they're good, reliable bikes. I wouldn't hesitate to get another.
