Hi, this is my first Triumph and I’m the second owner of this wonderful bike that has the sole purpose of putting a grin on my face every time we go out.

Are these adjustable forks an optional extra when purchased by the original owner.

    Hi Robert and welcome.

The adjustable forks are not a Triumph option. The most likely reason for them fitted is that the previous owner added them to adjust ride height by increasing pre-load (there are various designs out there). It may also be a sign that they also fitted uprated or progressive fork springs as well.

The rather basic suspension of the Street Cup does bear improving, I've fitted Triumph optional Fox shocks at the rear and a pair of Tec's progressive front fork springs, much better. I didn't go for adjustable fork tops simply because I don't like the look.

If you can it would be worth finding out more about what has been done to the bike before you start with your own mods, you may find that some of the "hidden" things have been done for you.

    Enjoy the ride.
    Paul

Exhaust mufflers - looks to be British Customs,Shorty predator Pro Slip-on exhaust? There is no name on the pipes so it’s my best guess, so if someone knows better, please advise. They do sound great as well as look cool.

Chapter 2…. I have commenced my own personalisation
Today saw the removal of the standard fuel filler cap and a Motone Monza style brushed Ali cap fitted. Not only do I prefer the look, I find it’s less fiddly to open.

Tail Tidy. I chose and Installed the Triumph version below and then went about shortening - pic 2 & 3 are the result after opting to keep the #plate light and reflector.

If it's had the cat removed and been fitted with an X-pipe, you should be able to tell by looking underneath, although I appreciate that you need to know what you're looking for! Maybe have a look underneath the bikes in a Triumph showroom, I'm sure they won't mind you grovelling on the floor. You may also notice some popping on the overrun as unburnt fuel goes bang in the exhaust system (that's nothing to worry about if it does). My Street Twin does it with the Motone X-pipe.
I'm surprised the previous owner didn't supply receipts or other evidence of changes and work done. I think that's an important selling point. Mine are all filed away as part of it's Full Service History...aren't I good :grinning:

I have just swapped out the standard side panels for these from Omega

Now this is interesting. I bought the same panels for my Street Twin, also from Omega. One reason was because I wanted to get rid of the tacky Street Twin logo but wanted to keep the original panels for when the day comes that I sell the bike. Obviously you're happy with the Street Cup logo and have stuck it on the panels..weird, but hey ho. When I first put them on they were a very tight fit. I actually used red rubber grease to make it easier. After a year or so, during which I removed and refitted them 3 or 4 times, one of the lugs, prongs or whatever you want to call it, snapped off. Very annoying. I think I used Araldite to stick it back but it was never the same and it broke away again.
Eventually I replaced them with a more expensive, but SO much better quality pair from Motone (still without the crap Street Twin logo!).
So I will be interested to know how yours cope with the occasional removal and refitting.

For Sale: one pair of slightly damaged, logo-free, side panels for a Street Twin or Street Cup. Price..make me an offer!

Now be honest, are the Motone panels easily the best? Of course they are!
