Hello all I am considering to buy a Triumph 955i ST 11000miles and 2 owners, I already have a 2011 t100 and that's great and will continue to use it. I think the ST looks gorgeous and used to have one, but at 70yrs this one has handlebar risers and may be ok, I don't know. I am thinking that a Hinkley built bike would increase in value over the next couple of years as I believe they were well engineered to insure Triumph succeeds. I don't know why but even today they don't make that much money compared to other makes of that time period.
Please can someone give me some words of wisdom on this matter before I smash out £2300.
    Thanking for any replies

Malcolm Woods. They are both great bikes. But i am biased and go for the 955 they were thrilling to ride and i think MCN compared them to the vfr 800 and they knocked spots of it. But the 1050 is a great tourer and capable of all day riding. There you go have them both.

I added some weeks ago that the Motorcycle Shack in Woburn green soho mills trading had a terrific blue sprint with something like 3000 odd miles and dirt cheap. And what i liked about the chaps there they were very willing to haggle. O'h Just better add i have no connection with motorcycle shack what so ever. Jus saw the bike when they were doing my tyres for me. And as i have had four of them over the years i love them and how they perform also had the 1050 and a great bike for touring but in my humble opinion the 955i has both. What i had to get used to was once you were in top gear your work was finished you wanted to overtake or pull out you just moved out and squeeze the throttle and away it went and you could hear the engine start to growl. The reason i didn't but it as the bike is to much for me. And they tempt you to squeeze the throttle believe they do and so does the 1050.
    Joe.

I am 66 and have a Bonnie T100 and an RS Sprint 955i fitted with ST bars but no risers. I love riding the Sprint it goes and handles fantastically (its a 2001 with 46k on the clock) but the riding position means that I can only ride it for about an hour. The Bonnie will keep me riding as long as my eyesight holds out and I can sling my leg over it. I suspect that at some stage the Sprint will have to go, but not yet awhile.
