Cheers for that, @Ducatitotriumph ! I'll give it a go on my speed with the straps provided first - they should just loop around the subframe. It might be an idea for mrs. Vulpes' Street though - stick a US10 on the back to bring her beauty case...
That very reason is why I travel solo far more often than I do with groups of any size. I very much prefer to just be able to wander where and when I want. To me, that's what's relaxing about a road trip vacation
That's exactly what I'm planning to do on my trip in September - I've got a rough idea of where I want to go, but will just play it by ear on a day to day basis.
Today I did the washing-up... That's 3 calipers cleaned and new pads fitted, and two wheels removed and cleaned. Just waiting for another inner-tube to be delivered then they're off to have new tyres fitted.
Ride it to work. I’ll hopefully be doing that more starting next week. Leaving my corporate America job and going to be working at a local high end liquor store as a semi-retirement. A few days a week, open schedule, so I should be able to ride in any day weather allows! I’ll just have to watch the free samples!
Congrats on the semi-retirement and new work gig, OsteKuste! You'll have to start posting in the What You Drinking Tonight? thread regularly and provide us some recommendations. Glad you'll get to enjoy riding more often, too!!
I've recently made a lot of changes to my bike (see profile) and yesterday I finished adding the last bits (front plate and gaiters), so I took it for a nice 90mile ride to celebrate.
Nothing at all exciting, but I sprayed my wheel cover . Was quite faded and wasn't sitting well with me. Removed and cleaned the chain guard as well. Now need to get some wheel nut covers (if that's what one calls them!)
Actually, I completely understand about being too busy enjoying yourself to take photos, @Wessa. I've done a couple of rides lately where I got back home and was having so much fun that the thought of taking pictures didn't even enter my mind until I was back in the garage! I guess that means that we're "in the moment" on rides like that. That said, I always appreciate and enjoy the ride photos you share. So please don't totally enjoy yourself "too" much!
My riding buddy has had broken ribs for last 3 months, so he was dying to go for a cruise. We did a quick 100 mile squirt around the coast, stopping for some great fish and chips in Kaiau
Sounds like a fun ride, Dartplayer and a great way for your buddy to get back out there on his bike. I envy you having all that gorgeous coastline right in your backyard!
As weather forecast was 'probably dry' I took the opportunity to do a couple of hours riding to check out bike's new tyres and brakepads. You can't beat the feeling of new tyres effortlessly tipping into corners and I'm pretty sure the EBC HH I put on the front have better stopping power than the Brembo pads I had been using. Fortunately rain held off except for a few drops when nearing home again.
I wrote a short info at https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/16-000-km-maintenance-on-my-tiger-1200.29237/
Today the classic togas I took a punt on Ebay arrived so I put them on.Most importantly they did fit so a result for £100.I will do the tors tune #20507? tomorrow and take a picture if its not raining like today.
