Hello to all! I have a bonneville 2010 with mag wheels and i love traveling with this. But it is a bit tough and a litle unconfortable when the road isn't good. Does anyone know if i'll solve this problem with a pair of rear socks. Any ideas for a comfortable pair of shocks for a traveling drive. What do you think about bitubo shocks?? There is anyone who have made this change? Thank you!
Hi George,I think you might mean shocks - as in shock absorbers - because socks are something you wear on your feet before you put shoes on Two makes of good, popular shocks are: Hagon & TEC.
Any aftermarket shocks arebetter than the standard Triumph ones which are truly dreadful. I have used the TEC gas shocks on my T100 and found them to be a big improvement but others favour Hagon - both are better than the Triumph ones !!!!
Hi George, welcome in. Ti kanis? I have hagon 2810's on my Thruxton and I am very happy with them. They cost around £200, a bit more expensive than the tec's, I think it would come down to your budget and the style. This is where I got mine. Tec's here
Hello my friend. Kala eimai!! Do you speak Greek?? Thank you very much for your help. You believe that Hagon are better? It will be fixed in the bonneville?
No I don't speak it, I knew some words as I worked on Paxos for a season back in the 70's my parents worked out there for around 10 years. Personally I preferred the hagons but others will prefer the tec's
After a little search i' m close to deside to take the tec shocks. But i'm not sure if the new ones with the adjustable damping can be fixed to my bonneville with the mag wheels. I 'm talking about these : All alloy gas shocks Bonneville/Bonneville SE, 15 x Way Adjustable Damping/Adjustable length feature. Although in the site says bonneville/bonneville se, somewhere in ebay where i found the same shocks says not for the bonneville with the mag wheels. There is someone to know if i can fix these to my bike????
Yes you can fit them to your bike. However it is useful to know that the length (fixing centre to fixing centre) varies depending on the different models of Bonneville. For example Bonneville measurement is 330mm, the T100 is 340mm and the Thruxton/Scrambler is 360mm. I had a T100 and wanted to raise the seat height slightly so I fitted the Thruxton length ones and they worked perfectly.
