Speed triple by any chance? I had the same if so. I took off the clamps for the cables near the headstock (rhs) and it's gone away.
    Triumph weren’t interested.

I had the same thing on a tiger 800. I made a habit of fully releasing the clutch lever when downshifting while coming to a stop. Seemed to make the problem go away but I didn't keep the bike much longer. I believe there's been a few cases with the thruxton 1200 so its not confined to a single model.

Really should idle just above the 1000 revs to stay charging. Not that it will help but give it a go.

What’s the fuel level like, I had this on a CB1300 changing down to a stop downhill when the fuel level was low, the fuel running to the front of the tank away from the pump inside the tank. Always started straight away though.

Stick some fuel conditioner in there to clean the injectors. Works for me.

Ah, now we’re getting there. The fuel is probably stale and there may be water in the tank so drain/syphon it all out of the tank, put some suitable injector cleaner in with fresh fuel and that should sort it.

There was a map update for the Thruxton 1200 that fixed the problem, probably worth calling the Triumph dealer to see if a similar update is required on your bike, my guess is it’s not been to the dealers for a while .
