Just sharing this here in the hope it helps someone! I ordered some metal couplings from Tom Parker and had this really generous and helpful email back (see image). The correct couplings (for my ‘97 Daytona at least) are here: https://www.tom-parker.co.uk/produc...pe-thread-valved-male-thread/649/clcd100040v/
Nice to see someone taking the time to ensure you get the right item, so many would just take your money and then try to wriggle out of the inevitable complaint/request for an exchange/refund.
I found Tom Parker really great when I came to replace my similar couplings for Speed Triple. They seem to have their "customer service" head screwed on. Kudos to them. You may know this already, so please forgive me... But, as I learned from Tom Parker themselves, you need some PTFE tape or paste to seal these couplings into the tank. The seal is NOT made by tightening the coupling all the way home - that will damage it. The seal is made by the sealant/tape. If that makes sense...
Thanks Daniel...apologies my alerts weren’t showing for this thread. Yes, tightening these up is a difficult one to get right...I had to go back in and tighten one up a little, which I could fortunately do without removing the tank, using a socket from the side. The issue is having to turn it a full half turn each time, in order that the release clips are in a functional position. I was very anxious of threading them.
