Hi can anyone advise me on which modern oils i should use on my new purchase a 1960 triumph tiger 110 pre-unit,as all the ones in the manual are difficult to get.
Opie do a range of "classic" monograde or multigrade oil suitable for older bikes. https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-1489-classic-motorbike-engine-oils.aspx I'd imagine the T110 would take a 20w50 in the motor and straight 30 in the primary? Modern gearbox oil should be OK.
Hi Old Geezer, I would suggest the oil below, I used this in my 1956 T100, regarding the primary case I would recommend using ATF fluid, the purpose of the oil in the chain case is to lube the chain, only fill the case up to cover the lower chain run, avoid using any modern gearbox oil in the primary case as this will contaminate the clutch plates and cause serious sticking. Hope this helps and ride safe all
Hello, Any quality 20/50 mineral is good for the engine, Morris Golden film or halfrauds classic 20/50 are both good. I now use 20/50 in the primary case seems to work as good as other grades. EP 90 in the gearbox, be care full not to overfill the primary and gearbox.
