You don't have to apologize, I am the one who did not understand because my English is very basic. You must explain things to me like an eight year old boy.
Regarding the seats and the mounting points, I have known since 1994 when I tried to put the seat cover on my Trident.
But I have to make a note, all the seats are not the same, at least, the seat of the Trident has a hump in its final part that will not allow the seat cover to adjust with the side panels.
I'm sure because I studied it thoroughly in 1994.
I thought that inside the seat cover had some anchor that I had not seen and that was what you were referring to.
To be clear to me, could you take a picture of the inside of the seat cover?
    Regards

Nice period pictures, and good advice, I agree with painting the parts you have for the time being, or when you have completed the the project and done a few shake down miles.

    Thanks Joaquin.

I'm surprised to hear that you couldn't get the cover to fit on the Trident seat - I will check that out at some point in the future as I have a '92 Trident (which I've owned from new) and a '96 Trident and the seat bases are identical to the Speed so the cover should physically fit over the seat but, of course, can't be attached without the proper mounting points. The seat with cover won't, I think, fit on the frame without removing the pillion grab handle.

Yes, I will, at some point, get some pictures of the inside of the cover for you - I have one from Sprint that I plan to fit to a '91 Daytona 750. I know, they weren't actually made or fitted at that time but I think it should, once it's painted up and fitted, look like a 'standard' fitting. I had to swap the seat over from the the one that was on the '96 Trident - which had obviously had a replacement seat at some time in its earlier life as it had the cover fittings - but that was straightforward enough.

I don't indulge very much in modern technology any more so it may be some time before I get the pictures taken and loaded up but I will message you to let you know.

By the way, I SO wish my Spanish was as good as your "basic English"!!

    What a wonderful bike.
I had really thought about it because I found a Trophy 1200 right next to my house, in excellent condition with only 18,000km, but that cannot be done in Spain, the problems in the ITV would be infinite.
Although the Trophy only has 108HP not 147 like that.
    Wet dreams for me ...

Not at all - a perfectly reasonable question. It would be MY indiscretion to tell! :)

Let's just say that I have several - we know I've got 2 Speeds; a Daytona and a Trident. That's a good enough tally for the time being!

By the way, I've just agreed a deal on those panels. The seller has some other parts (various coils, clutch bits, etc.) that will make it worthwhile me getting the lot. We just need to see if we can get the panels over to you at a reasonable cost. That won't be easy and it certainly won't be cheap. However, if you decide it's not worth the expense then I'll just keep them as spares for that (inevitable?) "Ayeee CARAMBA" moment when my age and stature take over!! o_O

My pleasure, always happy to help.
If posting to Spain, I would avoid Hermes if possible, they have lost items that I sent to Spain in the past

In case of interest this was listed in last months TOMCC mag. I guess by now it's probably available for download somewhere.

Well, the heart donor for my Speed is here. It's a 2004 Trophy with 42,267 km, from which I will be able to get some of the parts I need.
I have looked for one with a black motor so that I do not have to paint it, because the factory finish is better quality.
I'll have to set it up, but I was going to do it anyway. It has valve adjustment and recent revision, but the carburetion is not very good. The owner told me that lately he had not driven much and that may be the problem, I will clean and adjust the carburettors. I will also use the fuel tank and it is perfect, it just needs to be painted the correct color. I'm sure there will be some more part that I can use.

    Trophy 2.jpg

    Trophy 3.jpg

I can also try to sell the parts that I am not going to use and recover part of my investment

Great work, Joaquin. That Trophy looks really nice and should be a great donor. It shouldn't be difficult to sell off the parts you don't require post transplant - it might even be worth trying to sell it as a 'whole machine without engine'.

The game is very definitely on. :)

    Indeed Adie,

It's time to start getting my hands dirty.
I am looking forward to seeing it finished and being able to drive it.
And definitely that is getting closer every day.

If you're going down the internals route this is what you'll find! Best of luck!
