Anyone have one of these and if so, what's your verdict? Had a close look at one today and was impressed but they aren't cheap. I still have an old Rukka jacket I bought in the 80's which is still waterproof so I don't doubt their quality.
Yep the quality is second to none. I have had my suit for over 10 years and whilst it has faded a little, it is still 100% waterproof. For me it is the best biker kit on the market. But as you say not cheap. PS: I should have said goes in the wash a few times a year as well.
A bit heavy but it's a perfect jacket for cold and wet weather so I've been using mine through the winter. The stretch makes it a more comfortable than other heavy duty jackets I've had and it feels like it will last forever. Don't be fooled by the vents, they are useful when it gets a little bit warmer but I wouldn't say it's a year round jacket. Also bear in mind that it's really designed for an upright riding position so it works well on my GS and Bonneville but I'm not sure it would be so good on a sports bike. The seperate down jacket is nice but I've never worn it on the bike, even in freezing fog, becuase it's actually too warm! It's good to wear on it's own though.
I have one that replaced my 10 year old Rukka jacket. It has lots of bells and whistles and I intended it to be my only jacket. But as mentioned when it gets a bit warm it doesn't vent very well. Have a look at the video review on Motolegends. And don't forget you get an extra 10% off anyone else's price if you buy off them. Mine was under a £1k.
It’s £125 off on Infinity Motorcycles so if you send that to Motolegends price match department you’ll get an additional 10% off... https://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/product/rukka-nivala-gore-tex-mens-jacket
