    Hi I'm Ray
I ride a Tiger 900 GT Pro and I love it, its a very capable bike.
I'm looking for a bit of advice..I need a switched live, other than the rear light, to run a pair of Thinkware M1 cameras. When I connect the 12v to the switched live, (which is where my old cameras were connected) I get a rear position light fault and the light goes out after about 30 seconds. I reset the ignition and soon keep getting the same fault. I can only assume these cameras draw too much power or Amps, or something like that. ‍♂️ But basically I need a different switched live. Any help is massively appreciated..

Thanks. I did have a look at that option, but tracing the wiring back to source is a pain. It's no good at the plug end as it only outputs 5.5v.
I'm thinking now I'm just going to disconnect the aux power from under the pillion seat and use that.

Welcome to the family. No you are not mad yet. You just joined the asylum here as the peeps are so special. You will love it here pranks help piss taking all in great taste so you need broad shoulders. When the dealer wired in my tom tom they wired it direct to the ignition don't know if that helps. But the peeps will be along soon to sort it out.
    Joe.

I tapped into the rear light circuit and am running all manner of stuff off it, including a front rear camera, loads of DLRs and a microcomputer.

I can’t imagine your camera are drawing too much. How are you grounding the camera? To the frame or directly back to the negative on the battery?

Another problem might be is if the bike has canbus on the light circuits. If so it could read the extra current as being a fault.

You might be fine if you use a relay that is switched by the light circuit (on off with the ignition), but drives the cameras from the battery.

I spliced into the wire just behind the usb plug for a switched live for my sat-nav. It measured 12v so it must be the plug itself that steps down the voltage.

Hello Ray and welcome to the forum :)

With regards to your search for a switch live do you have a white plug which is on the left hand side of the bike,it's clipped to the plastic tray under the riders seat.
Like this(sorry about picture quality) If so does it have 5 coloured wires going in. How many going out?

Yeah it's weird, Good idea, using a relay to switch the battery live. my Innov cameras were running from the rear light. But I reckonnts a canbus thing. I have a temporary solution until I can dig into the guts of the bike to find another. I just put a switch in line from the battery.. I reckon I can tap from the rear aux power socket though. That's switched live, but its buried under the ecu so it's waiting until after Easter now.

My rear AUX power is not switched - it’s on all the time. The front one is switched though. Maybe take a feed from there?

Ray, if you've got a white plastic connector as in my picture you'll not need to go digging to find it. OK it's smallish but fairly obvious,,,,once you see it.

I think your original wiring problem is you hooked up to a canbus.

    Hi Ray and welcome,

I bought one of these for the SPrint GT:

    ThunderBox Power Distribution Module
    ThunderBox Options : ThunderBox 32A

    from the Bikers Discount Store.
It does seem to do what it says on the box.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Running my Roadhawk Bullet camera from the rear light switched feed on mine but perhaps it doesn't draw enough current to affect it.
