Weird you say that about the flu vaccine,I was meant to get a biopsy last year and was asked if I had the flu jab recently,I did through work and overheard the staff talking about it and about half of them or more would refuse it,very strange I though later

I was surprised when I got the call. I have no underlying conditions and I’m not a key worker.

Out of curiosity, how many people who think there’s some form of conspiracy about vaccines also believe in homeopathy, healing crystals and flat earth?

I hope Darwin was right. The world is over populated. Let’s tell everyone that a vegetable ‘shake’ drink will provide protection from the ‘fictional’ illness that killed my neighbour.

Whenever I believe people can’t get any dafter I always read this.

How many think this is a good idea? Hopefully all the gullible ones will believe it. That will have the double benefit of reducing the environmental burden and also raising the average global IQ by quite a few points...

I am not really into holistic or homeopathic health but nutrition is the best way to prevent any sickness. Nutrition can even play a role in overcoming injury. The simple fact is that if you maintain a healthy amount of food based vitamins and minerals your immune system will work better to prevent sickness and your body can heal faster. Not all pill form vitamins are food based and many (one a day) are complete crap. Many of or foods today are GMO and don't have enough natural vitamins and minerals in them so we as a population are getting sicker. When it comes down to it our bodies should be able to fight off most illnesses but without proper nutrition the body does not work at 100%, like old oil in a motorcycle, it just can't work properly. Synthetic drugs will never take the place of nutrition.

As for vaccines. For those of us over the age of 40 think back to grade school, how many kids had autism? Then look up when the number of vaccines for young children increased. There is a link. My neighbor is a special needs teacher at an average size high school, 1700 kids, she has a class of 20 and there are 6 special needs classes in the school, mostly autism cases. My high school in the 80s had about 1400 kids and we have one special needs class of about 10-15 kids. The reason for the increase is not natural, it has to be either environmental or from something that is being done to these kids. I will not be getting the vaccine.

Over population is the real "virus" here and it's out of control. It took 200,000 years to reach a world population of 1 billion, 200 years to reach 7 billion and we're now approaching 8 billion. When the population grows to that extent there are bound to be more people with disabilities but the percentages are probably no greater than they ever were.
As for the vaccine, I can't get mine soon enough and really couldn't care less how many refuse it for whatever reason.

I would never hold it against anyone to get the shot but I spent most of my adult life in the Army and had my fair share of vaccines. Been out for about 3 years and stopped all synthetic drugs and vaccines, other than the occasional pain med, about 6 months prior to getting out. I have a plenty of issues based on 27 years of the Infantry but try to avoid medication when I can. I live with daily pain but if it gets bad I will take something, sometimes just to be able to move around or sleep. Over all I stopped trusting doctors because it seemed every time I saw one their first reaction was to either give me a pill or want to cut on something. Neither ever actually treated the problem they just treated the symptoms temporarily. I have been trying to eat right and take vitamins and I have to say my mind seems clearer and overall I feel better. If you look into it you may find that doctors have been lying to us for years and we could be living a better life. Here is a good place to start, follow the money and you will find the answers. https://www.thelibertybeacon.com/john-d-rockefeller-used-ama-take-western-medicine/

I completely agree with the Darwin Awards review. ;)

And regarding "good ideas", there's always this blast from the past.:(

Clearly being healthy helps the body fight disease and in the recovery process - be that physical trauma or having an effective immune system.

It does not prevent illness. Viral, bacterial and fungal infections can happen at any time. Then there are illnesses like cancer (add a very long list here) that can be caused from a range of non health related reasons from genetics, environment, carcinogens, radiation to extreme bad luck...

It is worth noting that healthy people may also suffer badly with the Covid virus - for some reason their immunological response is too strong (cytokines storm) and does more damage than good. HIV is another example (there are many more examples of diseases where the body turns on itself)...

The autism/vaccine conspiracy has been well and truly been debunked. Even the author (Andrew Wakefield) of the original sensational causation report says it was based upon bad science and it’s incorrect conclusions should be ignored and will cause collateral damage if heeded. Sadly the conspiracy theorists refuse to accept this and claim Wakefield has been got at by the ‘establishment’ and forced to retract his poor quality paper.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3136032/

Understanding of neural developmental disorders has improved markedly over the years and been able to identify and ‘label’ many conditions that have always existed but were ignored or not understood. Historically unless a child was very badly effected (and needed special care in a home), people pretty much fended for themselves - leaving school with poor qualifications and sometimes unable to read/write or do basic maths. Education and awareness has helped people overcome the negative aspects and leverage the benefits of neural diversity. The support and coping measures just weren’t there years ago, but now there are D&I initiatives to embrace neural diversity and tools/training to help.

People do have the right to choose but decisions should be made on proper data not via armchair doctors peddling woo on social media.

My mother was bat shit crazy - believing in EVERY flavour of alternative medicine. She had the ability to think that if something wasn’t understood properly (yet) that it therefore proved the efficacy of whatever hocus pocus voodoo medicine she was currently advocating.

Finally proper testing is needed. People claim efficacy and validity of their alternative medicines on the basis of badly done (often unrepeatable) studies compounded by the lack of statistical understanding and that because someone gets better after taking x medicine does not mean x was the cause. Other arguments often used are the ‘I don’t know anyone that has died or even had the virus’ variety - statistically that is not a surprise at all and is to be expected - this doesn’t mean the disease doesn’t exist or is less dangerous or as communicable as it really is - the experience of an individual (or small uncontrolled sample group) is no argument as to the threat it poses to us. Unfortunately people think it is possible to extrapolate their local experience to the macro level. You can’t - it’s monumentally naïf to hold that view. There are books that simply explain statistics and the baffling paradoxical/counter intuitive implications.

Vaccines have been around for years (forever if you count natural immunity - that’s another rant). Billions have been inoculated (many times over). We have driven out diseases like small pox, and help protect against cervical cancer, influenzas, meningitis, hepatitis, etc, etc, etc... The benefit has been immeasurable.

All unethical and fake information should be taken down. Unless a scientist or similarly qualified professional, people should not be sharing opinions on what they don’t understand. A layman’s opinion has little validity and will be based on hearsay, group-think and emotion.
