Ok, come on now, forum members, get your butts in gear and start posting on this thread. I know I'm not the only one imbibing during the pandemic. I'll have to start singing George Thorogood's song, "I Drink Alone" if a few of you don't start joining me. Hmmm, how about you, @dilligaf? Anyway, here's what I was drinking last night by the fire as the sun set--a delicious Manhattan. Some evenings as the sun sets, the Catalina Mountains reflect back beautiful shades of pink and orange. This evening was one of them.
Tonight it’s a Gibson with Hendricks gin. The sky looks quite a bit different than it did last night. Rain is predicted for the next couple of days. Please keep your fingers crossed for us here in the desert as we are in the midst of a major drought and desperately need rain. I guess I could just wash my car and then it would rain for sure!
Ahh, but you might be the only one with the co-ordination to post something after a couple of glasses
Usual stash, there's another three shelves of the stuff plus one of gin and one with assorted brandies and rums. Started buying a few decent drams when I started flying out of Aberdeen regularly for work. That's been over 25 yrs now, so a few bottles have been and gone. If you are ever in Dyce stop off at Costcutter, they have a small selection . I think he sells online too. There was never the same choice flying out of Gt Yarmouth, Norwich or Blackpool
Great collection, Peter! I could check into Costcutter online. But buying in person in Dyce is a little out of the way for me, I'm afraid.
It's taken me that long to get to Aberdeen before now, and it's only 400 miles. The Costcutter chappie sells whisky as maltman.co.uk
Toasting President Biden’s inauguration while watching an honest to goodness press conference (versus tweets) with an Astoria cocktail.
Well, the sloe gin ran out, so the Mandarin Brandy has run out, and now the Hine Brandy has gone. It's only 02:22 and that's the last of the Hine. I might have to go to bed
Mr. Sandi went off to get takeout Mexican food for us (our modern day pandemic version of foraging in the forest). So I figured I'd opt for a Rosita this evening since it has tequila in it. I chased the Rosita with some mesquite smoked almonds. The recipe says this cocktail is best enjoyed in summer but what the heck. It was probably near 60ºF---close enough.
Third pint Could get used to this raiding the food thing while I’m drinking Don’t usually bother with solids Couple of chillies
