Just got myself a HJC RPHA 11 as an upgrade from a 10. It was on offer at Sportsbikeshop just before Christmas. Very light, pretty quiet (ear plugs always worn) and has cut outs for intercom speakers.

What shape head does the RPHA suit?? I tried on a HJC's a few years ago, the shape seemed to vary between models unlike Arai, etc

Don't know if this'll help Andy. Arai's don't fit me, I have more of a Shoei shaped head, and my last 3 helmets have bin Shoei's. I've tried a few HJC's on, and found that t'RPHA70 is more of an Arai shape, and t'HJC RPHA11 is more Shoei shaped.

I’m glad in a way that Arai wouldn’t fit me cos although they had/have some cracking designs they were very expensive. I too had a few Shoei helmets, the most comfortable was a Wayne Rainey replica, so maybe my head is more Shoei/HJC?
What HJC has over Shoei for me is there is no pressure on the front on the forehead. I can ride all day in a HJC but a Shoei had me stopping just to take the bloody helmet off after a while.

My new favorite helmet is a (relatively) new Shoei model, the RF-SR. Similar in shape and "guts" ti the RF-1200 but designed for a more upright / touring riding position.

Our lass bought me this for Crimbo. She's a good un.
It fits beautifully, but I haven't rode in it yet.

I have a HJC carbon off road helmet, can't remember the model and I'm very pleased with it, it's superb.
I've got the hots for a new Shoei Neotec2 but will probably have to see out the lockdown to find a local stockist. I've had a Schuberth C3 Pro for the last several years but I wouldn't buy another one, I don't think they're worth the price. Now I've got used to the sheer convenience of a flip up I wouldn't like to go back to a full face. I'd highly recommend one to anyone who hasn't tried one.
I'm also fancying a classic styled open face helmet to "match" the Triumph (how sad is that!) but still have the safety aspect bugging me.

I have a Schuberth C3 Pro Women's helmet, Pegscraper, and I'm with you. I wouldn't buy another one and don't think they're worth the cost. I did get it on a pretty good sale from Revzilla so at least I didn't pay full price. But unlike you, Pegscraper, I'm not sold on a flip up modular helmet and probably wouldn't buy another one of any brand.

I wore open faced 3/4 helmets pretty regularly for a number of years but when I started wearing full face helmets more frequently, I found that I just couldn't go back to wearing an open face without thinking about all the parts of my face that wouldn't be protected if I took a header off my bike. So I only have one open face still in my helmet collection and can't even remember the last time I wore it. So I think it's destined for decorative status.

Finally, Pegscraper, I don't see any problem with matching one's helmet with one's bike. :) Or one's riding jacket. ;)

Thought I'd resurrect an old thread rather than start a new one ;) Just bought myself a new lid.

I used this kind of helmet in the past. It fitted very well and I used it for 3 years. Last year I changed to a
SCORPION EXO-1400 AIR. I think that the viewing area is a bit wider.

I keep looking at the Shark Spartan, but have noticed there are various sharp edged attachments and I know I'll keep snagging them!

Build quality is great but I see a lot of reviews commenting on how noisy it is. Is that something you've noticed?

In a direct comparison, the Shark is louder than the Scorpion.
