Another bicycle starter here... Triumph Traffic Master in green, 3 speed sturmy-archer approx 1982/3... (but I really wanted a BMX; long story) I then had a few goes on a Tiger Cub (I think) that one of my local farms had kicking about... knackered old ratter, but better than walking not my bike but similar
The first Triumph I rode was my 2012 Thruxton 900. I test rode it with 1 mile on the odometer, got back to the dealership, pulled out my wallet and put down a deposit!
My ST 1050, bought it during lockdown, only based on photo and some advise from members there (thx Smilingjack ) Could sound risky, but the bike was cheap. Best bike I rode so far.
A red 1973 T140V at 17yrs of age. I'd enjoyed it for 10 whole days when I was T-boned by a Nun travelling to the local convent. Both the bike and the car were written off and the Nun had finished her driving ban and was back on the road in her new car before I had received a single penny off her insurance company. Those were the days.
Some variation of a 60's Triumph 500 Twin that I borrowed in the early 70's for a few hours. I had my first bike, a Yamaha 125 twin at the time. I really enjoyed the ride and the sound. When I returned it to it's owner George the engine was really hot. He pointed to a short lever on the handle bar and said "have you been playing with this" ? "No" I said defensively. "Well you should have" he said tersely. Some kind of advance/retard lever I suppose, totally alien to me with my modern Nipponese bike.
My mate's black and ivory "bathtub" Tiger 100A about 50 years ago. Like this, but not quite so immaculate.
1969 T120R. My friend had to show me how to start/operate it before I could drive it home. That was early 70's. Had '68 pipes, w/o crossover at the head, otherwise very stock. Loved it. Learned to tune the twin carbs w/vacuum gage, still remember at the time all those H/D riders trying in vain to get their scooters started LOL.
1st triumph my 2018 street r all the rest have been yamahas n I'm loving the street r was in the garage fondling it yesterday put all it's prezzys on.

In my early twenties, would have been 1980. I test rode a T140V 750 Bonneville someone local was selling. I got to the end of his road, turned round, and took it back. Couldn't believe the vibration. Awful. Rode my first Hinckley in 2003, a 900 Sprint. Have had about 9 of them since.
