I should think not, dear Daniel - you can get in line in "the Heimat" :p...

(Your government is starting before ours, anyway...)

Did you know that Lufthansa offers a FLC (frequent lockdown card) now?
You collect lockdowns and the number of cancelled bookings and with 5 of each you get a free PCR test.
The gold card offers premium vaccination! So you get the politician‘s version without side effects, the one Switzerland is waiting for...

    Meanwhile: Happy beta-testing :mask:

@BonnieCat and @Vulpes, the Netherlands lockdown actually made our little local Tucson newspaper this morning! Hang in there--hopefully your lockdown won't need to be extended.

Our Arizona governor has said that he is not going to institute any mandates but appears to be focused only on the vaccine. He has recommended mask usage and social distancing but his message is that he "is relying on Arizona citizens to make the right decisions". Our county, however, has a mask mandate (that's not being enforced) and the city of Tucson just yesterday went from a recommended curfew from 10pm--5am to that curfew being mandatory. But again, what we are seeing in response to any sort of mandate is inconsistent or no enforcement.

I think all "recommended" measures ought to be mandatory, and rigorously enforced. There are too many idiots and "non believers" afoot with their conspiracy theories and what have you.
It's all very well to appeal to constitutionary rights, but desperate times require desperate measures. Or as we say "zachte heelmeesters maken stinkende wonden" (soft healers cause stinking wounds).

I completely agree, Vulpes, along with Mr. Sandi and pretty much all of our friends and family (save the Minnesota contingent). Unfortunately, that saying, "zachte heelmeesters maken stinkende wonden" applies perfectly to Arizona's governor, Doug Ducey. :(

All to do with flow rates through hospitals, they don't want any pictures appearing of people dying in hospital corridors because of lack of beds. Lack of beds being caused by years of cut backs by all governments trying to "slim down" the NHS and save money.
