I was thinking if you spend enough time feeding the cake alcohol in my case rum. On Christmas day you warm it up in the oven. Would you be able to set fire to the vapours like you do to a Christmas pudding when you pour alcohol over it and put a match to said pudding ? I`m not a pyromaniac or anything

Just that easy, but eggs don't always turn out perfect, as one side may cook faster in typical microwave fashion. $4.50 kitchen gadget.
Well, that worked. Had it in a brine with rosemary, thyme, laurel leaves, peppercorns and brown sugar, then slowly smoked on low temperature to a core of 64C. Kept it there for 15 minutes to pasteurize, job done! Delicious and moist!
Soak it in a mix of cider vinegar, black pepper, and lots of cayenne pepper, mixture should be red. Warning this mixture has a corrosive effect on metals. Yum X2
