A lot of it is quite generic but Uk dna is basically quite simple not too many main groups involved... As a family tree tool it has limited value unless you are quite strict with how you do it. An average UK tree has more descendants in it than were alive in Britain by the time you get back to the early 15th century. But for specific genetic traits it can be very useful.
I got a test ages ago. When the results come through from the vets and the arboretum we should have an answer.
I have done quiet a bit around this with my tree, Ancestry has some very good help files online that talk you through the process and how to interpret the results. I would recommend going through them. You can also export the data file and post it onto other sites who will process it, often for free. Ancestry leans towards genealogy but other sites will give you drilled down results on health etc. You also need to check wether the site specialises in your mothers DNA or fathers. Different sites often use one or other these paths. Ancestry is a hybrid.
