    Hi all...

My name is Marco and i live in London although i'm Portuguese.
Don't own any triumph yet but i'm on the search for one. I do like the bonneville although my aim is to modify it to my taste.
Any recommendations? By the way... i'm not very tall (5ft6) and i'm planning to use the bike on an everyday basis but my commute is quite short in the city. And then i would like to enjoy weekends out of the city on the bike :)

I've seen this one on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-B...322852?hash=item1a101a83e4:g:svEAAOSwYlJW6sxY
with caught my eye and i fell in love... However the price :( ... The guy told me the price is negotiable but... What you guys recommend? Buy one like this or a standard one and change it over the time??

Sorry for the long post and thanks all in advance.

    Marco

Welcome in Marco, Bonnies are great bikes and you can get them at quite reasonable prices to mod at your leisure, that one on ebay looks great but pricey! And is it exactly as you want it, as a commuting bike? There is a member that gas one for sale at the moment. Look here. There will be more giving you advice soon good luck

Hi Marco and welcome to the forum.
Bonnies are fantastic bikes as crispey said (especially in blue).
Low seat height so should suit you OK and plenty of options for modification.
The one you have linked to is a bit expensive - I would go cheaper and customise it how you want.

Hi Marco and welcome to a great forum, buying privately!! I hope you are mechanically minded a low mileage and service history is always a good place to start have a look around at Triumph dealers with the influx of a new range may have a lot of used stock and have a chat to salesmen, this forum have members that sell there bikes on here, just take your time looking at bikes, I would go for low mileage, service history and factory/dealer fit options and a warranty if you can get it, good luck hunting and let us know how you get on.

Hi all and thanks for the warm welcome and advice.

My commute to work is very short, maybe 4 miles each way!! So i'm not very worried about that.
I want a bike that will put a smile on my face when going out appart from the commute.

The look that i'm looking for is best with the spoke wheels (T100) however i can see that the version with the mag wheels seem a bit cheeper.
Any advice on this one, T100 vs other versions?

    Thanks

The main difference is the front wheel size - smaller wheel on the SE so turns in quicker.
    T100 is more retro looking.

17” cast alloy wheels on the SE or standard Bonnie and 19” (front), 17” (rear) spoked on the T100.
Also tubed tyres on the T100.

    Cosmetic “upgrades” include:
    - Two-tone paint.
    - Chrome tank badges
    - A longer fender with chrome stays.
    - Fork gaiters.
    - Polished cases.

YaYa You forgot to put in your advertisement that you are a Triumph enthusiast and a Triumph forum member that maintains his bike to a very high standard as you can see from your pictures, If I was in the market for one of these it would be on my short list, have you had anyone around yet looking at it ??

Cheers Peter. Didnt want to big myself up! She was treated well before me, and I've been careful to keep her that way since getting her!

Had a couple of offers, but not a serious one, I think they were dealers trying to grab a knocked down price to sell on. I'd rather sell her to someone who'll enjoy her for what she is, a lovely bike! I'm sure first to see her will buy, she's all cleaned up and ready to go!

Sorry for the sales pitch Marco, welcome to the forum! Make sure you stick around, these guys really know their stuff and are a good laugh too!!!!

I had the exactly the same happen to me, Dealer made me a offer over the phone without seeing bike haggled got a price that I was sort of happy with then same day private buyer came over and bought bike at full asking price, the Dealer was not happy when I rang and told him so, wish you luck YaYa cannot imagine it will be long selling as weather improves.
