Every show has that difficult 4th season; the writers are struggling for decent stories, and one of the main cast is being replaced at the start of season 5 (apparently the actor is in talks for a travel golf show, or possibly a tense courtroom drama). Also, budget cuts means that the UK spin off series is going to have to play on a smaller stage.
