His chain looked pretty clean to begin with, so nothing a quick wipe with a clean rag wouldn't have achieved.
That won't get real muck and crap off on it's own.
If you really want to solve the chain cleaning problem - get one of these!:cool:

If you use oil on your chain it never needs cleaning just a wipe with a rag so I can’t see the point in that.

It looks like a lot of hassle to me, I'll stick to the old but gold system, rag and parrafin, for a deep clean I'll use a proprietary chain cleaner and brush, a toothbrush or similar gets to the rollers no problem, you'd be surprised how many have have used petrol etc and wrecked the o rings. Ride safe all.

You used to be able to get a similar contraption for bicycles but it was a bit of a faff for marginal benefits..... a kind of solution to a not quite problem.

Looks like a bit of a faff TBH. I use gear oil in a chain oiler, lube problem solved and dead easy to clean as there's no tacky crud buildup.

Only bike I've ever had with a shaft drive was a Z1300 back in '83. Can't recall any particular issues with it as regards gear change etc but that was a heavy bike. I think unsprung weight is the only drawback to them.

I like it. But you have to keep in mind I just paid twelve dollars for a chain slack measuring tool. They sent me a six inch plastic ruler.

I know what you mean. I ordered a penis enlarger online and they sent me a magnifying glass.
