Aspects of this thread remind me of Churchill’s observation that the best argument against democracy was a 10 minute chat with the average voter.

Too many have been spooked by an ongoing lie about who and how many are seriously impacted by this disease. We were all ignorant to begin with and rightfully fearful. Now? No. We know a lot more but have an unholy alliance of incompetence and profit keeping fear levels up.

There is more than one version of scientific truth if you bother to look. You can take a horse to water......

I think if you're going to make the assertion you should add some more to back it up, or it just sounds like a conspiracy theory. For a start there's no such thing as 'scientific truth'.

Are you suggesting that black people and those opposed to your political viewpoint should be experiented on with potentially fatal consequences?

Apparently you're "dim" or "diluting the gene pool" if you hold any other view than the official line

That's just sour grapes from people who don't have a cogent argument. I haven't suggested anyone with a view different to my own is less intelligent.

Exactly so why will the SAGE crew not show how they got their underlying assumptions and how their models work nor debate their findings with equally well qualified scientists with a different view?

My sole assertion is that too many are too trusting of politicians with much to hide (care homes infected from hospitals where many infections still arise in people already desperately ill) and others with money to make. The pharmaceuticals are struggling as patents are running out on their big earners and they have little new in the pipeline. Coronovirus and rhinovirus vaccines have proven a hard nut to crack but suddenly with public money....

This is a nasty disease but with a mortality rate akin to a bad flu we are bizarrely killing our economy too. There is simply no excess mortality over the average apart from a blip that started fading just before the first lockdown. Not me the Office of National Statistics (who also record a mysterious disappearance of the usual seasonal killers) A positive Covid test is in no way a ‘case’ but that’s how they were recorded for Covid even when the ‘patient’ is wholly well.

You have critical faculties. Don’t waste them on me. Look at Lockdown Sceptics, Great Barrington Declaration and anybody else rubbished by the authorities ( not David Icke!) but make your own mind up. Remember the whole Swine Flu scare? It was a con that never took off. Covid was real scare that has become a con. Bad flu can kill as many and periodically does. Covid turns out be not so novel and unprecedented but the inappropriate and disproportionate reaction is. I would now be described as anti vaccine (ironic given my own and my family’s extensive past inoculation) but if this one had been through the full testing and approvals regime I would be entirely content - except it hasn’t.

I won’t be having the Covid vaccine. It’s very early on in its development, no long term results yet. And it’s not something I fancy having... my choice (at the moment). I may change my mind in the future, we will see.

Or some conspiracy theorist nutter. If they were prepared for an open scientific debate I would shut up. A refusal to discuss is fundamentally unscientific. Mike Yeadon is arguably better qualified in this than Vallance. They know one another. He had said on the record ‘Why are you peddling things we both know are untrue? Sue me if you will’. The official line is to suppress the challenge. THAT speaks volumes.

My post is nothing to do with anti-vaxxers, it is concerning making an opposing opinion, or questioning the need, illegal.

I am not an anti-vaxxer, however I do not believe a vacine for Covid-19 is necessary for most people, of course the vulnerable in society should be offered a vaccine if/when it is available, along with anyone else who wants it, but it should be optional and never mandatory.

I also believe that anyone who accepts everything without asking questions are rather dim.

I basically agree with this but what should we do when repeatedly debunked, untrue statements are all over the internet, confusing important issues and often frightening people in to believing them?
