While the piper was clearly set up to challenge the Police line the reactions of the officers was utter shit! I would have them up on discipline for that one. They should have held him and not pushed him, by pushing him they reacted badly and, if he had been badly hurt, just a bang to the head would suffice, there would have been some serious ammunition provided to the growing disdain for Covid restrictions. I would love to have seen what the reaction would have been if he had been black or Asian though.
No it wasn’t. The arsehole with the bagpipes didn’t have to deliberately walk into the police to get a reaction and stage a shot that he later sold.
I don't understand.......the guy playing the pipes is in a group representing who/what? Why did he seemingly deliberately walk into the line of police? And why are the police apparently anti veterans?
What I see it a piper walking parallel to the police line. What you don’t immediately see is the kerb. As the piper approaches it he appears to turn and in that moment is shoved causing him to trip backwards over the kerb. The officer maybe thought him a little close but it was unprovoked if you discount the sound of the pipes. I very much hope the officer is called to account. A proper bollocking would cover it but Cressida’s Met is über pc so the natives (even Northern ones) are fair game.
Why is the forum unavailable "Unexpected error" at around 04:45 AM USA CST? Been like this for several days now. Later, its fine? Maintenance perhaps?
Don't you find it funny that the police stopped a group of veterans who wanted to place wreaths at the Cenotaph, but were present and didn't stop the Extinction Rebellion lot?
Look I am going to be mean here but this is informed guess work. The character who dressed up as soldier for ER would not have worn that pattern of uniform and non issue boots during his actual service - just the Royal Anglian beret. Moreover we are told he did four tours of NI and got injured (fair play to him). However, he left as a Private after at least 6 yrs service. He therefore wasn’t exactly motoring in the promotion stakes. If he wasn’t invalided out (and, boy, wouldn’t we have heard if he had been?) he was more than likely a recipient of a ‘Brown Envelope’. In other words, he was falling so far behind his peers he was never going to make Junior NCO never mind catch up. The Regular Army simply cannot employ old age private soldiers as they get into their 30s and it is a kindness to have them seek alternative employment sooner rather than later. You can draw your own conclusions about which knife drawer he was probably in.
^^^ the outpouring of anger and hatred towards this man is justified. To use the cenotaph as a protest to climate change is abhorrent. Now to get airtime to give him his 15 minutes of fame, is just as disgraceful, but typifies the MSM. Its a war he will not win, and I hope he realises his mistake and apologies to the veterans. Doubtful.
