    I've bought 2 5TA's and one has a reg but there's an issue, it's on a old blue reg doc and states it's a 1984 build ???

    Which is odd as it's as the vin starts with a H. and i have another bike with no reg plate but assured it's registered.
    How do i go about finding out how.

    Any points in the right direction would help

    Steve

    Steve, if you are in the UK go on GOV. UK. There's a whole section on registrations and VIN numbers. Maybe worth having a look there or possibly dropping them an email.

    My mate had a similar issue and I'm pretty sure from memory, was a while ago, this is how he sorted it.

    It may have been off the road in bits lost in a barn etc around 1984 which is roughly when the v5 system was computerised
    Someone has brought her back to life and applied for a reg doc keeping the old number but the date would run from computerisation day
    Something like that :rolleyes::rolleyes::joy:

    Have a look at www.tomcc.org aka Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club. It may cost you to join before they give out any information though. Hopefully not!

    Triumph owners club will cost you to be a member and they'll give you the information and dating certificate on the bike at further cost but if it has a log book on the system why bother you can get build year from the engine and frame number online https://www.tricor-andy.com/triumph-dating-information/
