Quite simply I love it, has so much character. I have put 1000 miles on it. On start up and stand still it shakes and vibrates, the moment you pull away it completely smoothes out. Pulls in any gear from 2000 revs and just rolls on. Purchased the tourer gel seat and put on sissy bar so wife now very happy. Got the H&B C-bow luggage rack with saddlebags coming. Once all on I will post a pic or two. That's it then, it can be a full on tourer or in a few minutes a naked muscle cruiser. The rear suspension for pre-load is adjusted on a thread so takes a few more minutes to adjust from solo to pillion but gives a very nice ride all the same. Cruise control is basic but very nice to have. Range 200 miles about 43mpg in touring mode reckon if you ride in town alot that would drop quite a bit though. Exhausts are very quiet, might change but I kinda like that fact at present. It's weight does not bother me at all, it is very well balanced and at slow speeds I handle this bike better than I did my America especially 2up, that may be because the torque is so low down it is pretty impossible to stall it.
I looked at the Guzzi 1400 and they just seemed huge to me. To be honest I only sat on one and never took it for a test ride. I love my California Vintage 1100 but now that I'm reading your report I may take a second look at the 1400. I put Mistral pipes on mine which gave it a nice growl. Beautiful bike, congrats.
Just to finish this post off, I did say I would post a pic once done all the changes. So panniers mounted, easy lift on and off C-bow frames which are all black so are really not noticeable when glancing at the bike.
