Liverpool area cases have risen to 400 odd positive out of 100,000 tested. So, 0.4%. As a rough estimate, if you then said 10% of those become seriously ill (0.04% of the 100,000) and 10% of the 0.04% (0.004% of the 100,000) go on to die (unfortunately) then you get some measure of the dilemma facing us all. As always, that is not to diminish the suffering and hardship faced by those who deal with it and those who are suffering/have suffered from it. That is 400 people who will die with Covid and who tested positive in the preceding 28 days but not necessarily of it.

"Or it may be that people in older age groups, who make up the majority of these deaths, are choosing to stay at home" -Interesting choice of words . . .

    Hi Jtc,

Apologies if my joke was insensitive - was hoping that you would see beyond that.

Not at all, man. I don't see any insensitivity at all. I was trying to make a joke myself about people being forced to stay at home and it said, "choosing to stay home". You should know by now I'm no snowflake. :)

My conspiracy theory is that time travel IS real and somebody is trying to fix 2020 by changing something, but every time they do, they unwittingly make it worse.

You don’t need to look too far for much of a conspiracy theory but I reckon it’s 80% cock up.

The two fragrant ladies from Edinburgh Uni regularly trotted out on our screens have zero - and I mean ZERO - clinical qualifications. One is a pure social ‘scientist’ the other is an impure social ‘scientist’ with a 2 yr degree in biology.

Virtually all of the SAGE ‘experts’ are actually mathematicians and we KNOW the infamous Imperial College model assumed zero public immunity to Covid when it is now known to be at least 30%. Given that we also know about another 30% have since had Covid we are on the cusp of herd immunity...... which is why admissions and deaths for ALL causes are consistent with the time of year. It also makes a vaccine superfluous.

The very few clinicians involved (real immunologists/epidemiologists) seem to be very close to pharmaceutical interests flogging vaccines and some of their former colleagues want them to explain themselves for peddling stuff they cannot believe to be true. Politicians are mostly complicit in lockdown madness that not only will not but CAN NOT stop a virus. The much vaunted Press (mostly political correspondents) have utterly failed to probe.

However, the medical profession here and in Ireland, NL, Germany, France, Italy, USA etc., are getting restive despite Big Tech’s attempts to silence them. As Boris said, the numbers don’t lie - the real ones, that is. Covid didn’t make the UK Top Ten killers in Sep 20. Selective reporting of hospital occupancy without context ......

Shout out to TalkRADIO & other honourable exceptions. Sturgeon? Don’t get me started.

It is almost like the rush to get a vacine is now not to save lives, but to get something to market before everyone else realises it is not needed and indeed superfluous.

Just don’t get tested on a Friday or Saturday. The clear evidence in Scotland (from pathologist Dr Clare Craig) is that the lab gets cleaned on Sunday. As a result rising cross contamination in the preceding week means you are far more likely to be positive....... only you won’t be. Remember the results get AMPLIFIED 45x to find anything.
The misleading test is part of the problem.......

From a recent Journal of the Royal College of Medicine:

‘The PCR test is not a test of infectiousness.

A positive result detects viral RNA fragment in the sample but does not distinguish between those who have the virus and are infectious, and symptomless people who may or may not be infectious.

The accuracy of testing in a real-life population is unknown, but false negatives of up to 29% are reported.’

So it cannot distinguish between old and current infections or dead virus killed by your immune system. And it has a high error rate both +veg and -ve.

Right, and I read somewhere that the norm to amplify for a test is 30x. They just keep amplifying until they get what they want -a positive.

x45 in the UK. Pretty much odds on it will find a ‘something’. All the evidence is also of many amateur lab techs with poor technique.....
