The last side valve I owned was a Suffolk Punch. You stopped it with a metal tab that earthed out the plug. I learnt the hard way to keep my nails better trimmed. I overstepped the rubber band and ended up flat on my back on the lawn with an arm in spasm.
Reminds me of my late father, the number of times his Mountfield lawnmower shocked him ( never laughed so much) was unbelievable. How I miss my dad ....
I saw this mama javelina and her two new tiny babies out on a walk a couple of days ago. When mama saw me watching her and her kids, she kicked it into another gear to find a hiding place. They were trotting along in a wash (desert-speak for a small creek bed that runs only when it rains). Neither Mr. Sandi nor I have never seen baby javelinas this young and tiny before!
What my daughter got me and I tried to send Saturday . . . I'm wearing it to my next staff meeting . . .
A link sent to me by a friend in the US :- https://www.warhistoryonline.com/news/mosquito-4.html Even warbirds occasionally come up as 'barn finds'! Positively 'awesome'. Interesting article also, if you scroll down concerning the sinking of a number of French navy vessels in July 1940 - an action not very well publicised then or now.
Thanks for sharing that link very interesting about the aircraft, as per the French Navy it is known and it would have been a decision to stop the ships falling into German hands or even used against us by the French, we forget that a large portion of France was Vichy and sided with the Germans ,there are lots of accounts of fighting between us and Vichy forces and also other forces from other european countries
An awesome tribute but for an awful reason. This is Washington DC memorial to those that have died of Covid in the USA. Its looks bad enough and all the chairs dont fit into the image, however each chair represents 10 people.
Wow! Just think what it would look like to honor car crash victims, folks who have died from heart disease, diabetes, or cancer -unimaginable.
Well, I will probably get hammered, but here goes: Image of 3500 crosses signifying the average number of abortions done each day in USA. just saying..
