I see on the Triumph site that under Speed Twin there is no longer the Vance and Hines option anymore.
I have just bought a speed twin from jack Lilly of ash ford and requested that the standard cans were replaced with Vance and Hines which they have done without query
Those V&H pipes sound brilliant on the speed twin. Had them on mine and left them on when I traded it. Wish I have swapped them out, cause I would have put them on my thruxton
Further update on the Vance & Hines pipes. Triumph appear to have stopped any loud pipes being fitted to any of their bikes from now on. Something to do with the miserable crowd who want to live in a mausoleum. Anybody wanting Vance & Hines from dealers that still have them, grab them while you can
Hi I had the Vance and Hines pipes fitted (bike from new) by my (UK ) Triumph dealer August 2019. The ECU was remapped to 30257-02 ("All markets unless a market specific calibration exists. Fuel up to E25. Minimum 91 RON (87 RON/MON) fuel.") There is now a new version 30257-03 which according to my local Triumph dealer would be downloaded into the ECU whenever the bike is in their workshop / custody. Im just curious to if this new ECU map has anything to do with the fact that Triumph are not fitting the Vance and Hines pipes anymore. ECU map 30257-02 loaded to ECU and specific to Vance and Hines exhausts when they are fitted to the bike. Triumph stopped fitting Vance and Hines exhausts (Speed twin) due to noise ?. New ECU map 30257-03 (Bikes fitted with Vance and Hines exhausts) being automatically loaded by them whenever the bike is in the workshop. Smells a bit like fish to me. Then again I could have caught "Second gunman on the grassy knoll syndrome". Any ideas / info. Thanks
My understanding is that the Vance and Hines cans were unable to make the noise limits imposed under Euro 5 regs. The ECU update appears coincidental to me as the Vance and Hines pipes were formally fitted in place of the OEMs without any recourse to remapping. Jake
