A friend of mine had one and let me ride it -which I did after making sure nobody I knew but him was around. It's true what they say, they are fun to ride, you just don't want your friends to know you did it.

You can drink and ugly girl pretty, but you can't drink a fat girl thin.

There is this Okie girl that's hot from the chest up. So if you see a guy in oklahoma on a street triple with a backpack on his back, and a backpack on his chest. It wasn't me!
She told me to bring the crotch rocket.

I can't comment on the ugly, but I've always leaned toward the "curvier" side -full figured women are always extremely appreciative and surprisingly athletic when properly motivated. :p As a bonus, they're never "over-ridden", if you get my drift. :scream:

Oh I know what's good - Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Triumph, Norton, BSA to name just a few things but Sting, Mod's and Scooters are way, way beyond the pale

    What can be said?
I always been fascinated by the short lived mod movement. I think it looks weird and odd, and it feeds my contrarian attitude. Just was at the Surf Ballroom, speaking of Buddy Holly.

I much prefer the Teddyboy image. I always thought it was very cool but you don't half get some funny looks when out and about in rural Scotland wearing a Drape coat, bootlace tie and apple green and leopard skin creeper shoes :) I am always out of step with the whole rest of the world and even looked odd in the rockabilly scene where everyone else is trying to look like the Fonz. Nowadays though my style can generally be called 'scruffy old man' or overweight Indiana Jones as I tend to wear a Fedora hat, brown leather 'Brando' jacket, combat trousers and boots when out and about.

    You got a Fedora? Brilliant.
I suppose my look is prison janitor blues, as I don't change after work. Unless I have been doing my best human shop rag impression, rolling around in grease.
I really like hats and mourn the death of the hatted male style of 1940. So it goes.

I have worn Fedora's, and other hats, for the last twenty years or so and I ain't even bald. It wasn't because I am a fan of Indiana Jones either because, while I did find the films entertaining that was as far as it went.

It all started when I went into a shop that sold all manner of 'hippy' type stuff in the town of Kilmarnock in Scotland and the owner was flogging off her hat collection. I bought this beautiful Fedora for about a tenner in a sort of 'taupe' colour I suppose you could call it. It had never been worn and was made by Attaboy in the fifties or thereabouts. Had it for years until it lost it's shape and I have to say that I have never found another that comes close to that one in quality, style and fit. Had all manner of hats over the years, bowlers, toppers, trilby's but the king of all hats is the fedora.

I have to say the thing that has always pissed me off is that here in Scotland everyone seems to think that it's a cowboy hat. I believe all gentlemen should wear hats. They are damned good at keeping the rain off too, totally waterproof and aerodynamic.

That pic was about fifteen years and several stone ago!

    Quite smart.
I have a decent Fedora that has seen its share of rain and snow. A bit worn now, but wearable. I also have my father's Hamburg, that was purchased in 1951. I tried to wear it, but I look quite ridiculous. Keeping it for memory. I have had a Aussie and several traditional Texas straws. Assortments of flat caps and my favorite leather flat that, again, my father wore. It still has the union label in. That cap is starting to fray, and I choose when to display it.

Well it's a good thing this thread didn't get derailled in the typical triumph forum manner. Gotta love it with the concise answers!!!

Not really a flat cap fellow myself, a bit 'working class' old bean:rolleyes: Now a 'Stahlhelm' cuts a dash :)

In a past life I was an SS Panzergrenadier who served on the Eastern Front, bloody Russki's blew me up with a feckin' great artillery shell!
The missus went through a wee phase of going to see those supposed psychics who do past life regression hypnotism. I noticed that all the male ones were somewhat light on the loafers and they would ask me if I would like to try a spot of regression whereupon I would tell them that I didn't need hypnotism as I knew that I had been in the SS in one of my past lives..... They don't seem to like the idea that anyone could have been anything but sweetness and light in a past life :D and no-one is ever ordinary.

Oh I was also in Vietnam and further back I was a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps during WWI. Went West when I lost power and had to glide down and was doing jolly well until I hit a bloomin' trench and broke my deuced neck! It's the sudden stop that does all the damage, take it from me! :)
