Did you check if volume adjustment worked through bike module? How about Siri?

So here it is. After meeting with a tech at Triumph HQ in France and looking at my bike, we were still not able to get it working correctly. Pairing of my S10+ and my Sena 10u for Arai works fine, but only the audio for calls are transmitted. No audio for music or Gps audio instructions. We tried with my setup on one of their Tiger 900 and same problem. They have to look into it with their tech developer guys in the UK. After going home, I tried to set it up with my wife's Sena for HJC and still nothing. I also tried with a Sena kit I have for my Arai jet helmet, and miraculously everything worked fine ! This Sena kit hadn't updated in a while and was still using one of the old firmwares. All my other helmets are updated with the latest firmwares. I proceeded to downgrade the firmwares one by one on my helmets that weren't working properly and had two roll back 2 versions to finally be able to use every functions properly. So for you guys who are having trouble also, I suggest you check if you have the latest firmwares and if that's the case, roll back until you get one working ! I've kept my contact at Triumph HQ in France in the loop and they will have to work on an update so we can have the latest sena firmwares working with Triumph's module.

After much pondering, I have just bought a GT-AirII TC-9 black Conjure helmet, together with the integratable SL2 comms kit. Not tried it yet, i’ll let you know...
The 50cm issue is interesting. Different subject but have you had problem with your keyfob loosing connection? I assume this is a Bluetooth hook up, but to the std bike.
My iPad pairing problem is the confirmation fails after it successfully finds the device. Based on your experience, I now believe it’s an incompatibility problem, I guess Triumph would say it’s at Apples end...
My iPad is bigger than my old SE & easier to route using the app, so I just thought I’d give it a try, as I bought the pannier system I’d put in there. Just an idea. I also wanted to test it’s hook up to more than one device. You have the large up to date II pro, I assume it’s a max.
BTW: Do you have any additional security fitted?

Have Huawei p30 pro. Can connect with bluetooth and the app works and GPS is ok.

I have connected bluetooth plugfones and sena30k. Both connected and was able to make a phone call. Both don't play any media. I checked my phone and what I saw was that bluetooth connected all services like calls, messages and contacts but not media. Couldn't make media bluetooth work. Not sure what the problem is there.

Bought a hero black gopro because I saw it supported gopro devices. Mind you plural. After reading the website they confirm only to support the here 7 black single device. Well crap.

One thing I solvef I think. The app stopped working due to agrgessive power saving functions and the GPS stopped. Actually the GPS can't be bothered with it as its just turn by turn and in Bangkok I need a map.

You know was excited reading about the connectivity, But in the end just installed a phone holder and use my phone directly. The thing works crappy and the time I spend on it was already costly.

I agree 100%. Much easier to work navigation directly through phone with map. Turn by turn is good but map is very necessary. I wish bike supported map function and not just turn by turn. It’s very hard to see map on phone during day light because of reflection off of screen. Unfortunately much time and money wasted on Triumph Connectivity System. Phone function is really not important to me. If I had to do over, I would just use mounted phone map and work functions directly from phone. I do not recommend this system!

I just received a reply from Tracee at Triumph, for those interested:

"Unfortunately the Connectivity Module is not compatible with the IPhone XR. The UK is currently working on adding new phones but I do not have an estimated date when an update will be provided."

    Rats!

Hi, found this thread on my search for answers. I have problems with the "My Triump" App. It worked just fine after I installed it on Friday. It didn’t update after a trip on Saturday, and I desided to reinstall the App. But now I can’t login, it says “no response from server”. My husband have downloaded the App as well, and the same happens to him. We have contacted the local dealer, and he had never heard anyone with this issue before. Anyone experienced the same or have a solution?

I have the same issues. Audio for calls are transmitted, but no audio for music. (Have not tried the GPS).
    I have Iphone 7 and Sena SC1A.

    Hi

I found this forum and post after searching to see if anyone else was having issues regarding the Bluetooth module as I am.

I have the iPhone X and when I got the bike in early July I could get the music working fine but without volume control to AirPods (that were linked to the phone). I've just fitted a basic Sena 3S to my Shoei lid this afternoon.

I've paired the Sena to the module rather than the phone - everything seems to work but again, without volume control apart from mute. It would be handy to be able to adjust the volume from the switch cube rather than have to take my left hand off the bars and use the helmet mounted control!

I just filled out a survey from Triumph about various things. One question was about Apple Car Play and Android Auto. I think the Triumph developed system won't be long for this world for future bikes, it has just proved too problematic. They have been promising it forever on the 2018 and on bikes with the original TFT and it has yet to surface.

Hi Folks, I just signed on here, and have cruised a few forum topics to see if others have experienced the frustration with the bluetooth connectivity. My Tiger 900 GT was SUPPOSED to come with it installed. It did not work. Then I discover that it has to be TURNED ON by a dealer with a computer connection. Last evening I went to a scheduled appointment in Sacramento to leave the bike for them to work on. After the service writer did the whole intake process, I learned that they were going to charge me $150 bucks just to initialize it. THIS IS BS! Why would Triumph ship a product without it being functional? I drove away sort of miffed. I didn't leave the bike. My phone already connects with my Sena system in my helmet, so the Tiger would only add a screen functionality. I'm not interested in paying more on top of the $16K I already paid for the bike! I've complained to Triumph about this, but have heard nothing back. I will post their reply if they do send me something.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent a bit.

Fair rant, if the bike is advertised as coming with it, then there's no way they can charge you for that, I hope you get it resolved. What model of Tiger 900 is it? I'm looking on the (UK) Triumph site, and it's not clear which (if any) it comes with.

For my Rocket, I had paid to have the bluetooth installed which (if I'm honest) the original marketing did very much IMPLY that it came as standard on the TFC. I think I paid about £300 (fitted) for it ($350-400), and when it didn't work as described in this thread, they refunded it and disabled it on the bike. So it's still technically fitted, but the bike isn't aware that it's there - essentially the same as yours now.

I'm waiting for them to perhaps fix the bluetooth module software, then I can go and pay my money and have it reenabled. I occasionally ask my dealer if they've had any updates for the bluetooth, but there hasn't been.

Long story short, if you bike should have it, moan until it's turned on. But don't expect it to actually work! Certainly not if you have an iPhone :(

    EDIT:

A bit long winded but I now have mine working as intended I think.

I'm returning the Sena 3S to Amazon as the audio quality for music was awful, I was also getting a lot of dropouts which made it unusable. It remains to be seen whether the Sena or the MyTriumph module was the culprit for the dropouts.

I exchanged the Sena 3S for a Cardo Freecom 4+ - I don't need all the intercom features but the 4+ comes with JBL speakers (which are superb). So I now have:

    - iPhone X connected to my triumph module - displays as 2 channels on the phone - 1 for audio and 1 for nav as it always did
    - Freecom 4+ connected to my triumph module - connected using channel 1 of the Freecom and left set as phone (can be set as GPS device)

I couldn't get it to pair at first. Cardo recommend connecting the phone to the My Triumph mod and the phone to the Freecom but if I did this I had to switch the audio through to the Freecom using the phone controls and then the bike switch cube no longer worked (though it did display track info)

I ended up disabling the bluetooth connection to the Freecom in the phones menu which means I'll have to re enable it from time to time to adjust headset settings which use a Cardo app.

    - Music from phone goes straight through to the headset without messing with the phones audio source options
    - Tracks can be selected (forward, back) on the switch cube
    - Volume can be adjusted - up, down and mute on the switch cube
    - I called my mobile while music was playing - it interrupted the music and I answered the call, ended the call and the music resumed
    - I need to prove the My Triumph Nav audio as it doesn't issue a spoken instruction until you're approaching the first turn (I was just in the garage with engine running while I set it up)

The only quirk I've noticed so far is that when I touch "Stop Nav" on the My Triumph app - it switches my music to the Freecom's built in FM radio - not really an issue.

Thanks for the update! That's great news.

    I have a couple of questions ...

You said "iPhone X connected to my triumph module - displays as 2 channels on the phone - 1 for audio and 1 for nav as it always did". What exactly do you mean by 'displays as 2 channels', could you take a screenshot of the phone so I can check how mine is set up?

You said "Music from phone goes straight through to the headset". Do you mean that there IS a direct (bluetooth) connection from the phone to the headset for playing music? Or are both music and nav going through the bike (and THEN to the headset)?

Will be great (when the rain lets up for 5 minutes) for you to go on a ride and see how the nav works out. I did at some point manage to get to the point where most things worked, but the nav gave directions after I'd passed the turning, and in attempting to fix that, I think I undid all the success I'd had with music and calls :-/

My advice would be, that if music and calls work, but nav doesn't ... only attempt to redo/fix it if you REALLY care about the nav over the calls and music.

When you look in your phones Bluetooth menu - if you've paired the phone as per the full instructions for the Triumph module, it should appear twice in the list (on my pic mine is "Street"). On the iPhone if you click the little i next to the connections one will bring up a page with "sync contacts", "phone favourites" etc - that's the bluetooth connection for the phone. When you click the i next to the other one you'll just see "forget this device" and no other options - that's the bluetooth connection for the phones nav. All that needs to be right first. It's a complete ball ache you have to make sure that you put the phone in pairing mode first and only then hit search on the bike - the connections must be initiated from the bike and not the other way around.

No - what I mean is that I don't need to specifically select the audio destination on the phones screen- it goes to the headset. The headset is not listed at all in my phones bluetooth. The Triumphs module is doing all the routing.

I'll report back when I have been out and tested the nav. I'm going to complain to Triumph later however as it's supposedly built around Google and yet works completely differently. As an example, when on the motorway or major A road, rather than say "in 300 yards turn left onto the the A689", it'll say "in 300 yards turn left onto the A1M" - the problem is that I'm on the A1M already and turning onto the A689 - it does this with every junction as it considers the slip road you're exiting on, to be a part of the main road your travelling on, and won't alter it's message until you arrive at the roundabout at the end of the slip road. It'd be easier to carry an atlas!

Fully agree with your last comment. The problem will be that if I decide to get a quad lock and use my phone for the nav, I'll be back to square one, as when I make the direct phone to headset bluetooth connection for the nav audio, I'll lose the music control and volume control from the switch cube.

I've uploaded the full manuals in case you didn't use them

Thanks for all that, it's helpful. I've had my bluetooth module refunded, as I couldn't get it working (they disabled it, rather than removed it, so it can be re-enabled at some point if I feel like paying the money to try it out again).

I did follow the instructions at the time, and still had no joy. I do now remember what you say about the 2 connections, one with options and one without.

I do definitely agree that using a pseudo- google maps within the app is not ideal. I don't know about other people, but sometimes I'll be on the bike, and want to use Siri to 'navigate to the nearest petrol station' or something - of course, you can't get the phone to navigate using the triumph app via Siri.

I don't know if it's even technically possible for a bluetooth device to hook into navigation data from apple maps, I had considered getting a Beeline nav unit, but it's the same deal, you need to navigate within the specific app, no Siri support.
