Got the "look at what's selling in our sale" promo email today. I spent £20!! Last of the big spenders, me.

Anyhoo, I was hugely amused by the carriage charges, as ever. Check this out.... Screenshot_20200926_124849_com.android.chrome.jpg
As much as I don't like Hermes....:poop: Bet you can't guess which shipping method I went for! It will take 2 weeks, but I can wait. :joy::joy::joy:

Unsurprisingly, everything in my size was sold out by the time I clicked the link, however as about 90% of my wardrobe consists of T-shirts bought from the Triumph outlet over the last couple of years I probably have enough already

Yeah, same here, especially the gloves for a tenner, the link didn't even exist.

Nah, did my 'good husband' act, bought stuff for Mrs BS. Will be hidden for Xmas... Lol. Joking?

The gloves for a tenner were there but only in XXL. The thing that was there in quantity was the ladies watch down at £25, but I didn't buy one of those. They are appearing on eBay between £75 and £100 though

If it's for Christmas, Big Sandy, you certainly chose the right shipping method. ;)

Aaaah, but no guarantee which decade that Christmas might be in, with Hermes.

The previous hermes driver used to say he worked for My Hurms. I mentioned it was more like My Herps.. He didn't seem to understand.

Next one was Polish... He was a cheeky bugger, would stand on the doorstep with your parcel and say "You make me tea? 6 sugar." Of course, he's got control of your deliveries, so "You make him tea."

New Polish driver seems alright, but turns up when the fancy takes him... Like if he has several parcels, which he's saved up to make it worthwhile.

Sigh... Don't get me started. Ahhh, too late, huh?

I wonder if that new Polish drive is also stockpiling some of the parcels at home never to be delivered. Our favorite dive operator/master told us that there was a mail carrier who didn't deliver anyone's mail for weeks and weeks except for a few pieces here and there to throw folks off the track. When the post office finally tracked the missing mail to this particular mail carrier, they went to the guy's house and it was literally stacked with letters and packages that he'd never delivered! :p

I can't say I have ever bought any genuine Triumph merchandise. I'm 'old school' and if I want some Triumph goodies I break out the paints and brushes and make 'em. Having said that, I have been planning to paint a couple of leathers up for months and still haven't quite gotten round to it. It is on the 'list' though along with changing one of my bonnies over from Forest green and Silver to Sky Blue and silver, stripping a slightly battered Bonnie tank and mudguards I bought to do some custom work on at some point, having a look at renovating or re-spraying the Forest green and silver bodywork I'm taking off, swapping the bodywork on my black Sprint RS for the Acidic Yellow bodywork on my other Sprint RS that's off the road at the moment (bought as a 'Project' needing a few bits sorted), restoring that Sprint RS, stripping and re-spraying the bodywork from the black one, painting my shed, building my next shed etc. etc.

To be fair, most of any companies 'official' merchandise is vastly over priced, and as such a waste of money, so in that respect I'm in full agreement.

But I'm always happy with a sale, tee's for £3, jeans for a fiver. Even though at £20 something my wallet nearly had a thrombo.... Spending money? Unheard of. :joy:

We had a football pools collector (do they do the pools in the US?) who used to go house to house, collecting the stakes. Every so often somebody won a quid or two... Everybody happy. Until the day one guy won the jackpot... The pools collector did a runner... He'd been pocketing the stakes, and just paying the little wins out of the takings! Poor jackpot winner didn't get a penny because his original coupon hadn't even been entered.

Mind you, my old gaffer won on spot the ball once. That was about 3 months after I told him it was a con and waste of money, so he stopped doing it.

That's funny, Big Sandy! We do have football and other pools in the U.S. But they are typically a work/office sort of thing. So I wonder what the adaptation has been during COVID since so many people are working from home now. Hmmm... I'm sure where there's a will (to gamble!!) there's a way. ;):joy:
