Anyone had their bike ceramic coated? Good? Bad? Cost? When my RT was new I had 3M Venture Shield fitted to protect the paintwork and it did a good job. Ceramic coating looks like it protects all of the bikes finish. Would appreciate feedback on anyone's experience.
Mine is booked in for the 2nd week of October, currently meticulously cleaning every visble part to aid the appearance. It's due a full detailing at the time anyway, but every little bit helps.
To add, £180 Inc my new carbon helmet being coated as well. Drop it off on a Friday, collect on the Sunday. Unless it's raining "I give it a five stage wash and degrease, decontamination, followed by a three stage paint correction using a machine polisher and three different grades of polish to rid any swirls, minor scratches and paint blemishes. Following that the Ceramic coating is applied to all paintwork, wheels (if they are high gloss painted) plastics, painted engine covers, exhaust cans, number plate, lights, displays, screen.... pretty much most of the bike."
I generally get emails when replies are added to posts in which I have participated but I wasn’t aware that anyone had added to this one? Maybe I missed it. Either way, OK, thanks to those that have responded and apologies to the more sensitive souls out there.
Not a chance in hell I'd leave my bikes with a random stranger, buy some good wax and do it yourself you lazy sod!!! Ebay sell clear stone guard in whatever size you need, you'll probably need about 4 sheets of a4 to do it, then look at your machine, cut and stick where you think stones will go, save yourself money matey.
I was in general agreement, my comment was aimed at questions and answers in some of the more confrontational threads on here.... yer big pussy It is only courtesy to acknowledge any advice or assistance given, good or bad, plus the rest of us are informed as to what is good/bad or works/doesn't
Sorry mate, didn't realise I was supposed to read the replies......I'll have a look now..........(been out today)
Mine's booked in for next Friday, pickup Sunday. Just adding some extra bits to the bike and removing rust where possible. It's only a grey/red/black Striple R so i am not expecting miracles, certainly no paint to bring up to shine like @SleepyOwl but as i am not planning on selling for a while, any protection is good.
She's been dropped off in Covid Central (Liverpool) in the condition of the photo attached. Once completed I'll add a photo for comparison.
