Hi, My name is William Resrepo from Mission, Texas. I am new here and I am also new to the brand Triumph, I just bought a 2001 Sprint RS 955i and I am in the process to restore the bike to the original. So far I had o do the electrical wiring, there were way to many cables, I did replace the battery, clean the gas tank, I did order a new gas pump (will arrive on Friday), remove and clean all the plastics, seems to be a very nice bike but has been neglected for quite some time. Hopefully with me this bike will see better days.
Welcome from Iowa. All the best on restoring the RS. I really like my 2000, but with 35,000 on the clock, it is starting to get needy. If you have questions, I can try to help as much as I know. Spent a bunch of time working in San Antonio.
Hey there, William! My 1998 Daytona came from Austin, TX, but I think it fared a little better than your Sprint did out in the weather. I had a few corroded switches, but no wiring rot. My gas cap lock cylinder was completely corroded shut. I had to hammer it out from the back with a punch. Drilling it was unnecessary it turned out. Looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing about your progress! One thing that happened to my instruments is that the red paint faded in the sun. It's not a huge deal, but it's still something you look and and go, hmmmm.
Later when you get it running, let's talk about getting the fackin' paint back into shape. It's looking like I just need to buy the decal pack and start over.
