Mandatory mot testing returns to normal as of August 1st. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronav...s-vans-and-motorcycles-due-from-30-march-2020 If your mot is due after July 31st, you must now present the vehicle for test as normal, there is no 6 month extension after this date.
LOL. You know I can oan Lee un der Stan words of one sill a bull. Gen err all Diss cuss Ian? Who that then? (Pssst... Still isolating here, due to Mrs BS health condition. Tourists coming up on a daily basis, not supposed to be until the 15th, but here they are... but we ain't allowed out til the end of July!)
If your vehicle qualifies for the extension, does the ruling that you can present your bike/car for MOT up to one month before the due date still apply? For example; let's say your MOT was originally due to expire on 1 May 2020, but due to the COVID ruling you now have an extension until 1 November 2020. Can you get your vehicle MOT'd say on 3rd October and (assuming it passed of course) the new test certificate would run to 31st October 2021 or just 2nd October 2021?
Yes you can, the expiry date on the MOT website has been extended by 6 months, that is the only amendment, all other rules apply in exactly the same way.
