TT you will have to watch battery power level with Datatool if you don't use bike much, in winter months i disconnect my alarm and fitted a shorting plug the other option is to set alarm to sleep/winter mode, check hid headlamp kit with mot garage first, check can for remap, chain oiler always a favorite if you don't mind cleaning the fling.

Hi TT, welcome,re alarm disconnection, if you go down that route be careful not to what I did and go to a dealer with a part number, there are 2 options, guess what, I got the wrong one!
If you have trouble getting either due to them not selling one to you Edinburgh Triumph are very helpful, will post it but get them to tell you which 1 you need.
Now I've got to go to them to change it and will be forced to look round at all them awful, horrible new Triumphs, aaaaargh, what a chore!!:rolleyes::D

The tdm was a good bike but it developed a rattle from the timing chain after it had been running for ten minuets so it had to go.

TT don't forget to contact your insurance company about changes you want to make to your bike, I have alter my bike i did a list of all modifications i wanted to do to my bike then contacted agent they were ok with all i wanted to do and there was only a small additional admin charge to pay out but i would prefer to have my bike correctly covered (did not want any loop hole for insurance company to get out of a claim).

Hi Peter, interesting that you talk about insurance company loopholes as I was just watching a program about the detailed clauses in contracts, over here.

For example, if the keys are left in your car, for any reason and no matter how short the time, if your vehicle is stolen then your insurance won't pay out.

So picture this, you are in a supermarket car park and your partner approaches the car with a trolley load of shopping so you get out to open the boot.Whilst you are at the back of the car, some oyk jumps in your car and fucks off with it, you claim for a theft and your insurance company tells you to "do one".

Alternatively, you are at a petrol station and get out to fill her up, someone nicks the car you are buggered no insurance cover.

Working on the basis that NO insurance wants to pay out and will use any and all tricks to avoid payment, it really does make me wonder about the value of anything other than third party insurance and driving/riding with care and common sense.
