How many miles riding on the road only including the running in period could I expect from these tyres before I need to replace. Lokking at them and how soft they are, I wouldn't imagine much more than 1500 ?
I got 2600 out of mine that’s including 1000 mile running in, i now have Bridgestone S21 which last 4000 miles and are much better in every way on the road especially ride quality.
I got about 3200 miles before they needed replacing. Switched to metzelers which currently have 3000 miles and plenty of life left.
I had Metzeler Sportech's on my last tripple, I thought highly of them, they were fine in the wet and cold of a dales winter too. Infact the front was amazing in less than perfect conditions.
Hi I have covered 4250 miles on my Supercorsa's and they are not done yet, I don't ride hard on the road but spirited, they are fantastic in the good weather, I have experiences no issues with them in the rain, indeed it was a test ride on one when it was very heavy rain not long after setting off from the Triumph dealer, I did some on a motorway to see how it performed and then switched to back roads, I road steady, however the TC kicked in a few times, it was the overall feeling that I decided to buy one. Tyres are a personal thing I get that, however when the TSTRS was tested it went through rigorous testing (road and track) by different riders, my thoughts are if the tyres are up to that punishment they are good enough for me. The Metzler Racetec RR K3s are good tyre and you can get them for £239 a pair including VAT from demotweeks. Safe riding all.
Hi J S Yes they are a great Tyre, they have a better contact area without affecting the rigidness and more wet weather shredding abilities, ideal for the usual British Weather at present.
I got 3700 out of the original rear tyre. Just replaced it with a Pirelli Corsa II. £150 but should last longer and still grippy.
Hi Lynx, I hear good things about the Corsa 11s, I had fitted a pair of 3s on a an older Street Triple R and they performed well especially in the winter, a friend has the Corsa 11s on his S100r and rates them, .that may be the route I go when my Supercorsa's are ready to replace. Safe riding all and look out for the crazy car drivers or should I say Chelsea Tractors.
. I'm going to stick to the Supercorsa SP on the front though. Last year I did Zandvoort and Spa on my 848 Evo with Corsa IIs on. The front tyre was melting on the sides. I showed it to the tyre technicians on site who said they weren't designed to work at that temperature. They were hot days. It felt horrible on the long fast corners.
Hi Lynx, I totally agree with what you say re Zandvoort and Spa and the Corsa 11s, 1 lap of the S100 on those and they would be shredded in hot conditions (not that you would anyway). However we are talking normal road riding and not the track, it's interesting though that in cooler weather on track days the S100r being ridden in the intermediate group went ok on the 11s, the inclement British weather affects the Supercorsa's as they don't get enough heat to operate at optimum level, me I just get on and go whatever the day's weather throws up, I just ride sensibly and have never had any issues with the tyres, track days are a whole different ball game, look at the review of the Ducati V4 naked on bike world review, standard tyres on a track day passing both club racers and some BSB riders, and some were on slicks, god that things a missile in the right hands and friendly on the road, I guess it's pay your money and get what suits best as we are all different. Safe riding all.
