One of the first “accessories” I intend to fit, is, (don’t laugh), a chain oiler. Had one on every road bike I’ve owned since the mid 80’s. Not very ‘street cred’ maybe but I swear by them. My Z has a Chaintec I bought around ‘89 and transferred it from bike to bike. You can build an auto oiler for around £20 with movement sensor and 12v shut off valve. Finding a location for the reservoir will be the trickiest part.

I’ve decided to refit the original front mudguard to replace the high level guard that came with the kit of extra parts fitted by the dealer (this was one of the extras I wasn’t that keen on). I’ve read that that the original isn’t the correct size for the 19” wheel on the Scrambler. Not that much out TBH and it sounds daft but once you notice it you notice it all the time! Luckily it’s ABS plastic and was easily reprofiled with careful use of a hot air gun. Hard to see in the pics but is now a perfect fit.
Love the colour of that Kawa @Pegscraper I wish Triumph did a bonnie in a vivid green along those lines although maybe a little more blueish, say with a pearlescent white?
Welcome aboard from another newbie. I have a couple of Jap-o-nese bikes as well and looking forward to my first Triumph in many yrs.
Enjoy your new Triumph whichever model you choose. Vastly different to all the Jap stuff I’ve owned and to the Triumphs of old so I’m told.
Great stuff and hope now enjoying your SS as much as I still do after a year with this one and a year with an original SS .. The new SS was a noticeable improvement which is why I traded up after a test run. One thing the dealership had to sort with both bikes was the front tyre losing pressure... 2 or 3 psi per week... remedied with replacement inner tubes... different to the originals. Once done no probs.. rear tyres on both bikes not a prob ... great bike, so much fun, never bothered by any heat from the exhausts
Had my second decent ride out tonight on some practically deserted back roads, superb! It's not particularly light weight (the Berg is nearly 100kg lighter) but it carries it very well. I've read about the front tyre air loss problem so I'm keeping an eye on pressures. I'll be fitting some 4mm tubes first chance I get. Exhaust heat not even an issue for me.

I've always preferred the OEM front mudguard to the high level jobbie that came with the parts kit but couldn't see why it wasn't colour matched to the tank (picky or what!), so I decided to have a go. Very pleased with how it's come out with a couple of rattle cans.
Yes very nice... I can’t see the attraction in the hi level guard either and your new colour matched one looks tons better
Glad you guys like it. Everyone has their own ideas and preferences of course. Getting a new bike is always a joyous occasion and adding your own little touches is all part of making the bike "your own"
