    Hi,

Im sure im not alone in having problems with a Datatool S4 alarm..

Just recently bought my Street Triple with it installed...

It works ok, but a total pain with this passive arming nonsense and the silent arm /disarm (Not in the EU Now!)

and the fact I never know if it ON/OFF/Sensors Enabled/Disabled...its getting like I need to carry the manual

around to suss out whats what!!!...anyway, I heard there's a shorting plug to disable the immobiliser, any

ideas where i can pick one up? Is this a Triumph part or Datatool? and do I then just disable the alarm from the

battery once the link is in place?

Thanks for any help on this....
    Brian

Just purchased a 2016 scrambler, started digging around and came across this alarm unit. Can anyone explain like I'm 5 what it's for, what kind of issues it causes, what the purpose of it is?

I lifted the seat and noticed a connector with 2 jumpers across a few pins, which seemed odd to me. My service manual just arrived and I determined it was the alarm connector, but I'm not sure what that actually means.

    Hi,
Think that jumper plug has basically shorted out the fuel cut-out and starter inhibiter circuits so the alarm wont cut out the engine or prevent it from starting

So what's the purpose of this connector? Is this where you would install an aftermarket alarm system?

The connector is where you plug in the Triumph accessory alarm system, made by Datatool.
There are several threads on here about problems with this alarm system.
General thinking is that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages of an alarm

Ah, understood. Just seemed out of place to see 2 big jumpers on the factory harness. Thanks, all, for the clarification.
