@dilligaf Like Nikki, I just saw this thread this evening, Dilli. I too will keep my fingers crossed that you don't get that call. But if you do, I suspect you will figure out or find something as good or better even than your current job. When I got canned three weeks ago, my mantra was "When one door closes another always opens." As others have said, you are a resourceful guy (as evidenced by your motorcycle mystery threads!) and will come out on the other side. Thinking of you and wishing you the best--whatever that may wind up being.
Hi Dilli, just come across this thread and your news. I know it's a shit prospect but you are a very talented and skillful bloke so if it comes to it I would hope and believe you'll be able to find something else. Have you started looking yet, got your CV up to speed?
Oh dilligaf that is not what you want to hear Keep your pecker up! I am a firm believer in shite happening for a reason. If it does, then keep positive and open minded and something will come your way. But it might not happen. No point fretting till you know for sure.

Hard times for sure. Hoping the axe misses you. Indications are pointing to a lean summer, until we collectively move past the fear and figure a way to live. I just try to keep the machines running the best we can, get some customers, and pull this truck out of the ditch. Keep the faith.
Just a thought, Dilli, but with your obvious skills, ability and ingenuity would it not be possible to rent a small workshop somewhere nearby and set up your own little business? I know there will be some hassle involved (in a previous life SWMBO helped run her late husband's business and she says that it is so) but it could be an option for you. Just thinking out loud - again. Feel free to tell me to ferkoff!!
Nah mate I’m getting a bit long in the tooth for that sort of shenanigans I set up for myself a long time ago and lasted about 8yrs but it wasn’t easy Think I’ll just sort of fade away work wise if I can do it
