Hello, I’m new to road motor bikes only having experience of farm bikes whilst growing up. Now in my mid forties I’ve decided to take my bike test and buy a Sunday fun bike. I’ve have fallen for almost all the triumphs I have seen, I keep looking at the three retro bikes: Scrambler, street twin and street cup. I think they are all stunning in their own ways, so I have join this forum to hear what advise the experts have and to hear all about them. Thanks J
Hi Jon and welcome to the forum If you like the look of these, try and book a test ride of each to decide which best suits you. Best of luck on your purchase
Hi Jon and welcome, you cannot go wrong with any of the bikes you mentioned, as above says try and enjoy.
Hi and welcome. If you ask the forum members you will get loads of conflicting views on the bikes you have mentioned and loads other bikes as well. As has been said, go test ride as many bikes as you can and then make up your mind on which one to buy
Jon15. Welcome to the family. Buying a bike you really need to test as much as you can you will know then when you have found your partner. And again you don't say for what purpose you want this bike. Some like the laid back ride you get from the Bonnies. Some like to tear up the roads with the Daytona's and street triples. And some prefer the touring version like the sprints. All great machine and none of them is slow. Regards Joe
Welcome to the forum, Jon15! I think you'll find this is a great community with lots of interesting, helpful, and hilarious (mostly...) members. I'm in agreement with all the guys who have suggested that you test ride bikes that interest you. Also, the point that @joe mc donald makes about the purpose of the bike and the type of riding you'll do is a good one. You may not yet be sure what type of riding will suit you most and over time you may learn your first choice wasn't quite what you were after. But it's good to start with a bike that seems to fit your tastes and initial riding purpose then learn more about yourself as a rider as you put in the miles. If you really love riding, who knows, you may wind up with more than one bike!
Welcome from North Wales - it's like buying a pair of shoes - you will find what fits and what style suits. The most fun bit is researching. Enjoy the forum and whatever you choose...
Thank you all for the welcoming words. I have already spent a few evening reading threads and looking at pictures. I will definitely follow your common advise and go and try some. Great forum. Thanks
