im ashamed to say I’ve owned a 2002 tt600 for 11 years and never joined this group. Also ashamed to say it’s hardly been used since 2014 when my daughter came along.. alas I have just had it fully serviced and MOT’d again. It’s back on the road. Looking forward to reviewing the site for info. Especially Datatool 3 alarm going off.

Hi all thanks for the warm welcome. Having dusted it off (well the bike hasn’t even been washed yet since 2014) in the pic and had it back from it’s full service/mot the alarm has been going off whilst standing. I thought it may be the battery so swapped that over but still doing it. I have searched the tinternet and it does appear the alarms are a pain in the a&&e. I’m sure it was working fine before it went to the garage. I’m clueless on bikes. Would the garage have done anything to ‘disrupt’ the alarm. I think the tank would have been off to change the plugs!! If not and it’s the alarm playing up how do you remove or can you ‘disconnect’ it. Never had a problem before. Oh - long shot but anyone in the derby area able to reset engine management light. Been on for years and the 3 garages I’ve had it mot’d have never had the tool to reset. Many thanks.
If it’s the same as most factory fit Triumph alarms (Datatool) then you can remove the alarm unit and link out the plug on the bike loom with a purpose made linking plug. You used to be able to get them from dealers but they’re probably pretty rare these days. You do see them on eBay occasionally. Otherwise you need to just link out the immobiliser circuit wires. Someone on here should be able to help with the wiring on your specific bike. As for your EML, as long as there’s not a permanent fault and it’s just been activated because of maintenance activities, you can try seeing if it’ll go out after 3 heat cycles - ie run the bike up to operating temp then allow to cool down, 3 times. If this doesn’t work then you’ll need to get the ECU read for fault codes.
