I need to replace the ignition pickup/crank position sensor on a '13 EFI Bonnie. They're still available from Triumph, but is there a good aftermarket that's more reliable? Also, in researching this I saw a recommendation that the air gap should be changed from 1.0mm to 0.8mm, but that was in the 2008-2010 range. Does anyone know what the recommendation is for a 2013?

There are ‘better’ aftermarket ignition coils available but the pick up is OEM only. The reduction in clearance to .8mm was quite early in production (early 2000s?) to cure an occasional misfire on some bikes because the magnetic field was marginally too weak to provide a reliable trigger.

Thanks. I had to replace the same thing on my Daytona not too long ago and it's integrated with the stator (well, it's actually the grommet where the wires go through the cover that's integrated) and got a replacement from RMStator, but wasn't having any luck finding one for the Bonnie. Guess I'll go OEM and hope the bike changes hands before it goes bad again. :p

And just to be clear, the current recommendation is still 0.8mm, right?
