Hi all, haven't done much posting lately but since I'm stuck inside and haven't got much else to do thought I'd post up a few pics of a Trophy build I did recently....

    Looks fantastic that Rob.
Can you give us some details of the body parts you’ve used please.
It looks like the sort of conversion I’d like to do with my Trophy. :grinning:

Nice build! REALLY nice build. :)

Is there a story behind the "ALTRA" nomenclature?

Thanks very much for the kind comments! To answer some questions.....Altra is a combination of mine and a friends initials, we're both semi retired and build custom bikes, we do have a website in that name but at the moment Adam is mucking about with it and its not live.
We had a stand last year at the BikeShed Cafe Racer Cup and the grey T300 was a quick build on a virtually unmodified frame (last couple of inches chopped off rear subframe), the panels are all one offs and at some point I'll get round to finalising the shape and taking moulds....so it would be possible to sell them as a kit of panels but not totally happy as yet....particularly the look of the sidepanels. I had actually intended doing the build on a 955i but it was rush for the show (started on the bike 4 weeks before it) and couldn't find a suitable one in time so picked on a Trophy instead!
We do Honda customs in the main but have always been a big Triumph fan and have done 3 other T300 builds.... more complicated ones ....theres a thread here somewhere on one....Trident project....a couple of years back....plus several Meriden Triumph builds....

Fantastic build Rob, what makes the headlight? Does its perform as good as it looks? (I'm currently looking for a replacement for my fighter).

    Cheers, Bob

The headlight was £30 odd from ebay, and yes very bright! I made the mistake though of buying just the light unit on its own and trying to fit it into an ordinary 7" shell....the back is a sort of finned heat sink affair and it was incredibly hard to attach it to the rim. I eventually got it in (after a lot of swearing and some blood loss) but not quite straight....no way I was taking it out again so beam pattern isn't great.....
Have always been keen on big single cylinder bikes but things like Gold Stars out of my price range nowadays so the Honda engined ones are my substitute!
