Sprint 1050 Front Mudguard - Rear Section

Trying to remove a fork leg but cannot get the rear section of the front mudguard screws undone, they are just spinning. There appears to be a plastic/rubber washer on the back which I cannot grip. Having already sheared one bolt elsewhere I am being cautious! Is there a knack to this or something obvious that I am missing.

Any advice (polite) gratefully received.

Don't suppose you were born in Apr 57 or is that your pin number

 

Correct on the name, sorry to disappoint but not my pin!!!

shows the mudguard as secured with a mix of wellnuts and non captive nuts......so they will spin unless held. I’ll leave you to work out how. Water pump pliers?

I had the same problem last winter and a small saw and careful working was helpul.Don't buy these wellnuts from Triumph! I got my from amazon for some cents!
