My 1200 scrambler Xe is a nice well balanced bike but there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s a fair old lump so has anyone had ago at reducing the weight?.

If you don't ride 2 up, remove the passenger pegs. I haven't weighed them, but they are really heavy.

Try a lithium battery, I put one on Mrs FZR Speed rs you'll save at least a couple of kgs.

Interesting - I had a very expensive and negative result with a lithium battery - did not work for me ...

It just would not start the bike - battery cabling just starting to warm up and over heat with-out starting the bike ... went back to the normal battery.

I think your right littleade it would be expensive , I bet you could move about 10 kg with a different exhaust and other bits but it would take more than 10 kg to feel a difference moving the bike around .

As above put a lithium battery on Mrs fzrs speed rs along with a leo vince low exhaust, removed rear foot pegs and hangers and replaced some nuts and bolts with titanium leftover from my racing days. Probably saved in the region of 10 or 12 Kgs. The difference is chalk and cheese, it's made a huge difference it feels more like a street.

Exactly 3.1 kg difference in weight.
    Batteries are same physical size.
