When we bought this place I said to the missus "If we buy this the garden is yours, it's way too big and I don't do gardening" now I get to mow the lawn, sort the pond and pay someone to come and deal with the garden every month coz she hasn't even thought about picking up a feckin fork and spade since we moved in
Goodness that has explained a lot. I was wondering as I was reading through the post, how the feck do you find time to ride.. A gardener is the simple answer. Edit: forgot to mention lovely garden..
I have very big garden, but hate gardening, and have to pay gardeners to do it for me with the exception of the grass. Everything else they do.
That's a cracking pond you have...think i have pond envy, needs some Koi though...i know if i had my way most of my garden would be a pond.
I already have a built in garage, but if there was another garage I’d have to fill it with bikes. So all in all I think it’s cheaper to keep paying the gardeners. Good idea though
It looks nice on the photo TD, but it’s a right pain in the bottom. Every Feb/March I have to fish out all the frog spawn. There literally buckets of the stuff. Then the tree drops all its leaves into the pond in the autumn which has to be cleared out and then there’s herons who keep trying to eat the fish. The whole thing is a bloody nightmare. I do have a net over the pond but the herons don’t know it’s a net and land there anyway. I think Dozers Dad has the right idea
By "leaving exposed", do I just leave it lying on top of the ground or in an unfilled hole and then either plant in spring or fill in the hole in spring ?
Diva, my arse It grows like crazy in my garden, and I do nothing to it. I give most of it away as there’s too much and you always have to add loads of sugar to it when you cook it. But I do like it. The variety I have, I think, is champagne rhubarb. But don’t ask me for growing or gardening tips.
