Well had to go and give blood on Monday so tested out the new throttle cables - all good, all very good in fact :)

Will be giving the Daytona a proper clean and polish today - not an activity DS usually indulges in.

How often do they let you give blood?

Had a run out to replenish the air ambulance last night so decided to take Tracey, God she sounds sweet! I do love riding her, especially on roads that are basically empty

3-4 nights a week blood running and 2 days doing milk runs, don’t get a run every night probably 3 a week at the moment as lots of the volunteers are now free to do shifts, we’re just starting day time covoid sample runs so expect to get busier.

Nice of you to say so but it’s the people we’re delivering to that deserve that title, plus I didn’t know you’d heard me sing

You use your own bikes then?

Here in Nottinghamshire we have dedicated Blood Bikes to use.

Doing a shift tomorrow - wish it could be on the Daytona, but wouldn't have anywhere to actually carry the goods :)

Yup the majority of us use our own bikes most of the time, there are only about 8 fleet bikes half are kept by some members and the other half float around the rest. I have one at the moment as I was going to take it for a service just as the shutdown happened. Well done you too!

I’ve taken the reflectors off and taken all the stickers off bar 2, I’ve left the running in rpm guide on until it’s run in and one datatag sticker, you need strong nails and some brake cleaner if you fancy taking your stickers off, it’s a ball ache of a job but they do look shite, changing the time on the clocks is easy and my tyre pressure has stayed correct over the last 5 months with no air added.

You guys probably cover greater distances than we do, I’d like to hear more of your set up, tried pm’ing you but it’s blocked, can you pm me how you share the bikes around or do you have them permanently etc. Cheers

Yep, we run to Sheffield, Hull, currently Birmingham, but most runs are within Nottinghamshire.

They generally live at certain member's houses and we collect and drop from there, but we'll also coordinate together to pass them on - so if someone is doing two consecutive nights but another rider needs it during the day in the middle, they'll collect from the first rider and return it to them.

Yup about the same here but shorter runs. We have an hq where some are left and then picked up for the evening.
